    The more I see of Vancouver, the more impressed I become. Yes, it's definitely not Toronto(and that's not necessarily a bad thing), and it certainly has its sore spots(east Hastings, ahem), but it presents as a very big city in a beautiful locale that's managed to balance growth while preserving some wonderful neighbourhoods, great old architecture and judging from your video, is eminently(and pleasurably) walkable to boot!

    I love rainy walks and listening only to the city sounds. Thx Ken for taking us along on this wonderful Vancouver walk. Take care and do stay safe.

    Quite the bustling city, for sure!!!! Loved the talkless rainy walk & the city sounds, thanks for taking us along!!! Since we are nearing Christmas, you & Johnny Strides should do your individual walks near Christmas Day, ( a day that does not impact your holidays of course for you & Johnny) & plan to meet up either at the Toronto sign by city hall or that Square similar to Times Square in NYC, & both of you say a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to your fans!!!!! That would be so cool!!!! Cheers & stay safe & warm!!!!🥰🥰🦅🦅

    Ken, you should have entered the Vancouver Public Library and walked through the foyer. You would have been impressed.

    I was wondering if you got into Yaletown, and you definitely did. When I first came to Vancouver late 91, it was an empty warehouse district. There were still railway tracks down the middle of the streets. Starting in the late 90's, it got completely redeveloped. It's high end condos, shops and restaurants.

    What a nice, ambient-sounds-only excursion down the rainy streets. The city has lots of charm. Very enjoyable, even heard the seagulls! Question: Were the people speaking much French there? I didn't hear any, nor did I see signage. I figured I'd hear more French, seeing as it's Canada...?

    • @TheKenContinuum
      @TheKenContinuum  Год назад

      Thanks! No, not many French speakers in Vancouver (or Toronto for that matter). You won't hear much French across the country outside the province of Quebec and a few other regional areas. Among the bigger cities outside Quebec, Ottawa has lots of Francophones since it's on the border with Quebec.

    Ken.... I am not sure if you enjoy Shakespear, but here is my attempting writing in that flowery language... Here goes.... "OH! Hark the silence of my voice as I walk through falling moisture upon the ground which my shoes step around puddles" ..... "Sounds of rumble do not come from the gray sky, but those metal boxes we call, automobiles" ...... "I see through the lens of a walking beat and things I see are poles, not trees, and these poles are topped with a web of wires going every direction; the trees grow short, thin, nimble branches on the street"..... "In yonder on another street tall trees soar of leafy nature, good nature, and the men of those days building their concrete dwellings were wise to keep the big trees of that era" ..... "A quiet walkabout in the moisture of the day as the city life bustles and I hear only the voices of the chatter of others and so this is Vancouver" ...... The end.... Always in Good Taste.... CHEERS!..... Be Supportive and Subscribe
