You are right - it is a timeless song and it is one of the best from my generation. I appreciate that you treated it with respect and stayed true to the original intent but definitely put your mark on it. We "older people" can be very possessive of our musical memories and you could have easily blown it, at least for me. You didn't and the cover was great - in it's own way as good as the original. Glad you Dad introduced you to "my" music.

I was going to add that, as a child of the 60s and a great Gordon Lightfoot fan back when he was not much older than you, this was always my favourite of his tunes and you not only do it great justice, you make it your own and give it a fresh interpretation--you make it a new song again.

You're so right! And there are so many great 'old' songs that many of the younger people today would never have heard. My Dad played all the greats from as far back as I can remember so I grew up with them. It's just so cool now I can play them and take older people back to those times, and also so that younger people can appreciate the truly great songs of yesteryear that perhaps they would never get to hear. I'm very lucky and privileged to be able to do that. I appreciate very much your comment!

This is very a beautiful version of this classic tune! This is one of my favorite songs so I covered it over a year ago, but I didn't like it, so I redid it, but haven't uploaded it yet! I'm happy with it now, but I don't have any special sound effects! I wish I did! Anyway, thumbs up # 732 !!! :)
