Kingo says “You don’t turn your back on your family.” Kingo didn’t turn his back on his family but he did walk away before the final battle began, he wasn’t part of it. I like Kingo but I wish he was there in the end to help fight.
But he was against what they were fighting for. Its like a family member against someone in the family having an abortion but still loving after and even before its done but isn't there during the process to comfort.

The fact that so many different things happened like the Eternals choosing to support one another, choosing to not support either side, choosing to fight, choosing to stay on Earth, choosing to leave, becoming human, and even some dying. It’s wild how their character development was. Everyone had their own unique ways of handling the situation.
@ihave3dollars154 The critics were just being too harsh. The film did have a bit of dragging with its runtime but it was highly entertaining and each character did well with Makkari and Druig stealing the show for me.

Introducing all the characters, letting us get to know them, seeing their arcs, and running through the plot structure was too much to jam into a single film. Should have been a series. The same story told over 8-10 hour long episodes would have been AMAZING. Think how much more we'd know about them, how much more nuance and character and world building could have been done. It's not that they did a bad job with the time allotted, it's that the time allotted wasn't nearly enough for what the characters deserved.

When I saw this in the movie theater I was deeply surprised that Ikaris already knew about the emergence and that he killed Ajak because she told him about the real reason why they were on Earth after they left Babylon and that she and the other Eternals are trying to prevent the emergence of tiamut.
Neither Sersi nor Druig were the ideal choices for the Unimind. If the Eternals selected Makkari as the center of the Unimind, she could have vibrated Tiamut through the Earth. That way, both, Tiamut and Earth would have survived, no casuality needed.
According to quantum physics, the universe is not made of particles, but vibrations. If an object temporarily vibrates at the frequency of air, it temporarily gets the properties of air, like the ability to pass through solids. Speedsters have the ability to vibrate themselves and objects at a frequency they choose. The Flash can phase through walls. Reverse Flash can pull the heart of his enemy via phasing without crushing the heart. So the Unimind should give Makkari enough power to phase Tiamut at the frequency of air and push him off the earth.
How did the Deviants find out about the Emergence on the other planets? The Deviants were smart as hell low-key because they only attacked the intelligent life to prevent Emergences from happening and that's why the Eternals were made but the Eternals on earth only found out because Arishem told Sersi. The Deviants were intelligent enough to figure out about the Emergence and how to prevent it from happening. I really hope they explore this more in the future.

Y'know, I kinda skipped Eternals after hearing about how it was received and figuring I could just watch it later if it became important, but seeing this is giving me second thoughts... I'm gonna check it out, if only for their character dynamics.
Yeah it’s a very character and story driven movie but it’s really good. A lot of fans wanted another big action spectacle of a movie and Eternals wasn’t that. The characters drove the story and didn’t just stand waiting for the plot to happen.
Wish there was a whole movie like this from Marvel that was based off of the strongest of the group turns on his team and doesn’t help them like ge did and just try’s to destroy them and does all but a few
Ikaris does not deserve to be a leader because he always follows orders and never thinks for himself, plus he's not very bright he just confesses his crimes to the whole team.
I feel bad for these marvel heroes cause some of them turned on each other, a couple of them died and all of the sudden they all separated from each other. I just wish that they all sticked together like a family.
I feel like one of the few people who actually liked the Icarus twist, but thought Ajax’s death was unnecessary/too soon. Gilgamesh dying was sad, but in many ways he represented the importance of familial relationships between the Eternals. His death parallels how all of them are strangers to each other now and live very independent lives.
I exist for Arishem. Man this is good. Richard Madden is the perfect cast for the role of Ikaris. I hope to see him again in the role of Ikaris in future.
If we're talking about sentient creation there's only one right that could grant the creator the right to judge, to punish and to exterminate - the right of the supreme power. The creation has a right to defend it's life and will and if the creator can not inflict the control - the creator have no rights.
Ikaris is a soldier willing to complete his mission & do anything for his cause. He believes in the righteousness of the Celestials, that the birth of a Celestial is worth the sacrifice of billions because a single Celestial would go on to create trillions more life forms.
The film is basically a metaphor for space abortion. Ikaris is against them aborting tiamut. He chooses to enduce its birth from Earth despite it killing Earth in the process. He's also a space god made robot angel so he doesn't really feel life on earth is above disobeying his robot god.
The way I perceived is that Ikaris has been hiding the truth from everyone after Ajak told him, Ikaris even stayed away from Cersie as a result and at the end Ajak changes her mind and tries to stop emergence and Ikaris had been hiding the truth for centuries at this point living alone believing in Ajak to let Taimut rise, so he goes against Ajak and let's emergence happen otherwise all those centuries alone staying away from family would be pointless. The emergence had become his purpose for centuries.

Sequel was canceled a while ago. Good thing too, eternal are great but the MCU didn't honor their comic book versions at all
