Here lies the equatable culmination of an indelible and inexorable epic. Congratulations to all of you for bringing forth such an absolutely fascinating work. To this moment, this is crowned as my favourite track, and so it shall remain as long as I contemplate it.
When I see videos like this, I get inspired to work harder and stay focused.

@@ThorsShadow right it's all about whatever works for the individual, and he does have a lot of control when he plays.. but still just looks awkward to me.. just never thought of playing not striking with the broad side of the pick.. although it seems like he uses it here and there

it's like holding drum sticks. there are some usual ways to hold them, but in the end everyone's grip is different

Yeah, it's pretty unusual. Check out some Archspire playthroughs too, one of their guitarists picks the same way. I tried it and it actually makes tremolo picking across several strings really easy. It feels pretty odd when you're not used to it but it works well
