Great review video. I just stole a 2019 Mazda CX3 from my local Mazda dealer with only 9K miles on it. My first Mazda was the MX6. That's the one with the oscillating AC fans. Also had a Mazda Protege. I'm in my 70's so I've had a lot of cars over the years but the CX3 is the most fun I've ever had driving. The styling, color (red), and interior are excellent. Love the Control function on the console. Took about 45 using it to be able to not look at it while driving - it is so intuitive. As you, I'm not a big fan of the screen but after a while I got used to it. Mine is automatic and the sport mode is really fun - and for such a small engine it throws me back in my seat. Smiles all the way - especially every time I approach the car's beautiful silhouette. Liked the dealership so much I bought a 2022 Mazda 3 5 door for my wife. Two other things: I live in Florida and the sun is brutal here so I ordered the OEM sunshades for both cars. These have the Mazda logos on them. Really well made and look fantastic. The last item is something I've done with new cars for years is to have the tires balanced. I've never seen a car with factory balanced tires. The other thing I always check as well is tire pressure. On both cars, especially the CX3 with the big wheels, I dropped the PSI 2 lbs less that the default PSI. The Mazda 3 feels like I'm driving on butter it's so smooth. The only 'fault' I have with both cars is poor rear seating. However, we rarely carry passengers so no big deal. As you can tell by the length of this review - my wife and I are very happy campers. Thanks again for a great video.

I just got a cx3 yesterday. Really happy with it and because I live up a windy hill, the stiffer suspension is great with minimal body roll on the many corners I have to go around. I also got the higher model with leather heated seats, auto lights/wipers, heated wing mirrors, electronic front seats, led lights/daytime leds, front and rear fog lights etc.

I have been driving a 2015 CX3 AWD diesel 16 hp with 16 in rims and it is a pleasure to drive after having driven many brands of cars. As the narrator puts it no tire noise with smaller rims and wider tire sidewalls. Everything he says about the interior is true. I think it is a luxury SUV. With snow tires it is a marvel on the snow.

I rented the 2018 one and got really impressed! it's a nice small car. The power is not so great. it's kinda slowish but it's not a problem in city at all. I really liked how it handles as well. I wish it has around 200hp then it'd be a great car.

We love our CX-3 Sport Nav petrol auto bought last year. It has BLIS (did Brian mention BLIS amongst all his talk!), and Thomas always recommends getting blind spot warning... And my wife and I actually like the HUD - a basic system but it works!

I'm a huge fan of the CX-3, particularly in the US where small cars with AWD are difficult to find. The styling is excellent, I personally LOVE the materials used inside, and it has enough power for its size (we only get the 2.0L petrol I4), combined with sporty handling and good steering feel. A+ in my book.
Great review, really enjoyed how in-depth it was, looking forward to more!

Just got my dreamed-of CX3 a couple of weeks ago and I love it. Had 2 Mazda 3's prior to this but always wanted the CX3. I'm glad I waited. My last Mazda 3 was Soul Red, which I loved, so of course I picked that colour again. I thought the colour looked richer than the last one. Now I know why. There are a couple of things I miss from the Mazda 3 but who cares. I have my CX3. Yay!!!

Have been watching literally every CX-3 review on youtube in the last couple of months, and really liked your first review. Some of the negatives of that review have been solved with the 2019 update, so i felt the car would really fit my personal needs and ordered mine only a week ago (top trim automatic with leather upgrade and ofcourse in beautifull soul crystal red) Seeing this new video in my feed has made my day. Shows the car in great detail, very nice and pleasant reviewer and overall the experience that i made a great decision in getting the car. Now for the wait till november until i receive the keys...

Good review many thanks. My wife has the current model, it's a great car packed with tons of useful features, drives and handles really well, but a bit on the firm side. The rear space is a trade off, but it's not trying to be a full on family car. I agree with your comments regarding the info screen. But styling wise, it was love at first sight. We tested all the manufacturers cars in this sector, Mazda have it nailed.👍

The most complete and detailed review I found about the 2019 cx3. Thanks for this! A good review is to consider the car for what is it supposed to be at is price... By the way, I bought one that I will get next friday. It has the size I looked for (the cx30 is newer and better but too long for me) and this car as a real personality far away from a Kona or a T-roc... I agree with the review, for example, when saying that a traditional RPM hand is far more sexy than a wide digital screen... Enough of screens on computers, smartphones, watches.. ! Best regards from Paris, France

I looked at the CX3 in the showroom when first launched side by side with the 3. One thing was very noticeable was the grade of plastic used in the interior and parts that you touch, e.g. window switches, they felt like they were formed from plastic as used in disposable food containers! I know that they want to keep the weight down etc... but if it makes the car feel cheap, then its not a good move. The armrest felt fragile also. I wonder how this new face lift model have improved.....need to go to the showroom for another look.

Like the review but you were lacking some information. For instance, I would like to see the revised rear LED lights and if the indicator lights are LED now or not. Also, you mention the headlights are halogen but around 24 minutes you can clearly see that they are LED.
I like the review though, as you go into specifics but I would have liked it more if you had gone into the changes and the details of those changes.
On the power front, 121 HP is quite a lot for a car that weighs just over 1100 kilo’s, which with all the sound deadening is quite surprising.

Yes! I think they should have user profiles for different drivers for the electric seats and HUD adjustments.

I think it is based on Mazda 3 more than Mazda 2... Engine is 2L. Which is available on Mazda 3 not 2

i own a 2017 cx-3.. not that happy with it. lots of squeaks and rattles since i got it, the suspension jumps around easily and doesn't absorb cobble stones very well, when i turn my steering wheel at slow speeds there's some sort of grinding creak, took 2 months to get my airco fixed in the middle of summer, you have to pay to get upgrades for the nav, the nav is rather slow, etc.

That flimsy cable behind the middle mirror looks awful. As far as I remember every Mazda had it and they still haven't got rid of it!

Just bought one nice lite bugger all the options but the wintertyres 18" 50 profile spike tyres make it a little bit noicy..
But i guess i could sell the wheels to a lot of people and get down to more normal wintertyres apart from that a lovely little car with 10 years warranty,..

This car looks so good and well designed but needs the new 2.0 engine from the 2019 model MX-5 with over 180bhp.

Fantastic review, thank you for that. I'm in the position of choosing a new car for a client of mine who qualifies for the Motability scheme. This car, a Seat Arona, Nissan Qashqai, Citroen C4 Cactus and a Peugeot 2008 are on the shortlist. I am limited by vehicles needing to be driven by under 25s, that reduces the maximum power of the engine to 120BHP or less, and also insurance group 16 or lower.
The CX-3 was my favourite over the Arona because of quality and power. However, your review has put me off because of the tiny infotainment screen. I can see my colleagues not being impressed by this as the other cars we have all have larger screens, although some have dreadful interfaces and dashboards, cough cough, Toyota C-HR. I do love the traditional heater controls in the CX-3, we use them a lot here in the "It's grim up north" UK.
I think if I can get the Mazda dealer to throw in free metallic Soul Red Crystal then they'll win. However, what an absurd way to choose a car! As you said yourself, you spend much more time sitting in it than looking at it!
It'll have to be a test drive and see if the CX-3 SE-L Nav+ can beat the extremely well equipped Seat Arona Xcellence Lux. PS, my client doesn't care at all about the vehicle, except for the colour ;O)

Honestly, I'm impressed that Mazda is still in business. Love the new design. Car is easily recognizable. I'm disappointed that Mazda denies technology and backs away from it. I would have been happy if their party trick was an iPad in the center console similar to the Volvo's. I really don't see Mazda surviving past 2025.

Yeah, we looked at the CX-3 when we needed a crossover, there was alot to like with the CX-3 but ultimately decided against it because we could not live with any of the engine options available. 150hp should have been enough but it still felt so incredible sluggish, 10 seconds to 100km/h and anything above 100km/h and the acceleration was pretty much dead, fuel economy was nothing to brag about either. So i guess the engines was more on the peaky side (having to rev like crazy to make them work) and not enough low-end power. Or maybe to much transmission losses. Either way, Mazda should rethink their engine strategy for the CX-3

Maybe we have become over reliant on a turbo engine giving that instant boost. I am thinking of buying this car simply because it hasn't got a turbo to seize up through lack of oil and coolant feed when shutting down engine after a long run without equalising temperatures and the fact that it has a torque converter auto box not a troublesome twin clutch
