I see a lot of teams already in week 1 in college that’s running choice routes with all kinds of splits. Gotta give credit to Heupel. It’s the new wave for offense right now. It makes play calling so much easier in the passing game. It allows you to call the perfect without calling the perfect play.
Great video.. he have been widening our splits for several years.. pluses and minuses to it.. especially at my level with iffy qb arm strength.. but if you are a slant guy.. having your x/Z really wide opens up a lot.. especially as we switched to a lot of ‘now’ slants… in 2023
@@CoachJoeSalas the Y will get upfield a tad quicker on Corner and Cross. However better the Y off if you are going to start attaching Bubble on the back side of runs. My deal is I am installing things and get new kids added that I probably want to get on the field. Its like I gotta reinstall formation. Its just a pain in the ass

Agreed. I think all this came from run & shoot and then through Art Briles.
@@CoachJoeSalas Mouse Davis plays with Art’s splits and tempo. Killer combo

@@CoachJoeSalasWhat is your email address?
Coach. When your 2x2 with those wide splits does it effect the timing of you running stick?
No stick has been good for us.
Did you do a video on your Choice concept? If so, what is the link please?
It’s in my CoachTube course
My kids are killing me. I might just have the H and Y both be off the line in Open formation. How important is it for the Y to be on the line?
We have them both off. But I know some guys think it’s a big deal to have the Y on.
