O anos 90.saudades
Chill Rob G - The Power Version Will never be Improved or beaten because a thousand percent soul went in to his version Its a classic Not even the dancing from West Side Story can beat the craftsmen and teamwork of this production, Snap are good artists And the girl is good Chill Rob and his teams teamwork were on the same 1000th dedicated page!!!
For me, both "The Power" songs are equally good, whether it's sung by Chill Rob G or Turbo B! Think that these 2 songs were some of the most listened to hip-house songs from 1989-1990, along with Princess Ivori and Deff Boys!
So amazing that 3 groups artists came out with the same beat/sample as Mantronix - "King of the Beats"/Snap! - "The Power". But "The Power" will always be an original.
As I said, there were not only 3 hip-house music projects that used samples of the song "Mantronix - "King of the Beats", but there were a lot of projects and songs, realised in many countries! Even here in Romania, such songs were made in the Romanian language, which have similar instrumentals, with samples from the song "Mantronix - King of the Beats"!
So interesting, never heard the Def Boyz yet I've heard the hook on theirs before. I thought it was just a dj mix of Chill Rob and Snaps. Turns out it their own distinction from the beat.
Not at all...Deff Boys is a project made in England, only that it appeared at the time when Snap also appeared, and released its song "The Power"! Also in that period appeared "Princess Ivori" (a girl from America, possibly from New York), who released her song "Wanted" and which is 100% similar to the songs sung by Snap and Deff Boys!
Never heard of the def boys until now Goes to show there was so much good music out there that wasn't mainstream. Aug 2022 and still learning about music 5aug 2022
In addition to this list, I add other songs similar to the 3 you mentioned above, realised in the period 1989-1990-1991-1992! One Shot - Move It! (1990) Kiwi - Pompe Pompez (Paris Danse Le Funky) (1990) Princes Ivory - Wanted (1990) Go Bang - Bang It (1990) Rhonda Moore - Preface (1990) Ice MC - Peace (1990) Masterboy feat. Mendy Lee & M.C. A.T.B. - Indian Grave (1991) King F.S. feat. True - Brand New Dance (1991) Musical Voyage Target - Hype The Bass (1992)
And let's not forget that a few years later, after Eurodance and techno music from all over Europe had reached its peak, many rappers and producers started again to make hip-house songs, with instrumentals exactly like those from the period 1989-1990- 1991! Namely, in the period 1995-1998, several songs were realised, and I will put a list here: Benz - Boom Rock Soul (Rock Mix) (1995) Cool Cut - Please Let Me Know (1997) Code K - Sacrifice (1998) Sunvibe - Dreamer (1998) Sign O' Soul - Upside Down (1998)
Yes, it is true that the three songs have the same sound .... if you want to listen to other similar songs search and listen to youtube, the song "Kiwi - Pompe Pompez", and you will see it sounds similar to those songs ! ruclips.net/video/WJUmQUn_-64/видео.html
Chill Rob G recorded it first, then the record company did something shady from what I understand which lead to Snap version. The Def Boyz I know nothing about. That could be as simple as the same producer.
That doesn't mean that if you haven't heard of "Deff Boys", you won't now! However, when "Deff Boys" appeared in England, also at that time, the English boxer Nigel Benn released his song "Stand & Fight" under the project name "The Pack feat. Nigel Benn"! And also during that "Deff Boys" period, in England a girl from America who sang rap songs, recorded her song "Wanted" in a studio in England, possibly also in London! I will put here the links to the videos of the 2 songs I wrote about above! The Pack feat. Nigel Benn - Stand & Fight: ruclips.net/video/Y4Ic6k3iuMQ/видео.html Princess Ivori - Wanted: ruclips.net/video/9XceB3YbC18/видео.html
It has nothing to do with what you say...this style of hip-house songs was not first sung by Rob...if we search carefully on the internet, we will find that other rappers also sang this style in 1989 , and not just Rob! Look, I have 2 examples: 2 similar songs are "Doug Lazy - Let It Roll" and "Dr. Felix - Party Time (Hip Hop Scratch)"... both songs were made in 1989, namely Doug Lazy is a rapper American, and Dr Felix, is a rapper of Nigerian origin who lived in Italy, and there he made the song "Party Time (Hip Hop Scratch)"! I will also put the 2 links with these 2 songs, so you can listen to them and make up your own mind, and convince yourself that in 1989 not only Rob sang this musical style in hip-house or hip-hop!
