I definitely got a feel for her fire damage. So very sad. Thank you for this video

Quite a collection of pilot houses there. I wonder if they are being saved for possible museum usage or tourist attractions. I would hope they have more value as intact pieces than as scrap metal.

I remember at some point hearing that the idea was to put them in a public park setting kind of as a marine artifact pieces. I don't know if this ever went anywhere. It is an interesting idea. They could have these all along the canal, as tourist/museum installations.

Any reason they are saving all the wheel houses....quite a few of them around the yard.

How do they get the ship that far a shore

Basically, there is an inclined ramp leading up from the water. The tugs push the vessels up as far as they can. Later winches are used as needed, to continue to pull the hulls farther up as the demolition progresses.

Did they ever figure out what caused her fire?

Negligence. (They made welding repairs which left some smoke on the room. Instead of looking someone opened all the doors and turned on the vent which caused it to spread faster.

@@jamesbraun9842 They were using space heaters during the welding projects, and they forgot to turn them off when the contractors left and some of the materials they left started smoldering due to the space heater quite literally melting it and the ship keeper decided to just turn on the workshop exhaust vents and that basically just gave the fire free fuel.
