Thank YOU! I’m happy I could help! Just keep trying the combo in different situations, and eventually, it will become like second nature. Once you feel comfortable going first, I suggest checking out part 2!
This video is actually invaluable for learning how to play this deck. I had played Code Talkers before the Firewall Dragon errata and just came back to them recently and now consider myself fairly competent in the deck, but I still learned things from this video! Specifically incorporating Wicckid and the Salad package were both something I was still struggling to learn. I always saw the salads, but all the places I saw them in were decklists and never told me *why* they were played beyond "they're extenders". Thank you for putting all this effort into helping all the aspiring Code Talker players out there, amazing job not only walking through the combos, but explaining *why* you do things the way you do in them.
Thank you so much for these kind words!! I can’t even begin to describe how happy this comment made me. This is exactly what I was going for. I’m so glad I could be of such help! Be sure to check out part 2 on going 2nd when you get a chance :)
@@Werwa_ I’m glad you liked it! I’m so happy I managed to pull that off while gathering footage. I think I’ll upload it separately without commentary at some point.
Love the video. I have been working with this deck to get the combos down. About to check out the other combo video and the deck list video. Keep up the great work 👍
Much love! Comments like these motivate me to keep going. I have been hella inactive on MD and with making RUclips videos. I want to make an update about where I’ve been but I’ve been through a lot and idk where to even start. There are some things that I legally cannot even talk about yet. Part of me was wondering if there was even still interest for my content. I’m glad that this helped you! Thank you for the kind words.
I learned how to extralink a different way from this vid. I actually came up with my own extra link path that sets me up with omni negate trigate, two-bounce Firewall and iblee lock, but it requires a few extenders in hand. This vid just showed me another way to extra link code in case I don’t have the other extra link option. Fun fact, I actually discovered on my own and use the Code Exporter and Iblee interaction in my own extra link combo, so it was cool seeing another person find that little interaction.
@@danielespitia1776 glad you found it helpful! Worth noting that I didn’t come up with that interaction on my own, and it’s standard Code Talker meta. In my Deck Profile video, I go over Tri-Gate Wizard as a flex option. Iirc I said something along the lines of “you have my respect if you use this card, and it’s absolutely viable, but I find it a bit too complex and requiring a bit too much of an investment in the extra deck.”
Awesome! I’m so glad I could help. Make sure to check out Part 2 on going second! I really hope Konami doesn’t ban Codec for the link festival, but if they don’t, I bet the festival will be nothing but Salads and Code Talkers.
It complicated combo compare to shooting quasar dragon synchro, I just started play back after long time stop since the classic yugioh before 5D, now I decide to build this deck to learn link summon stuff, watching your video is really good explanation rarely people talk about building deck, they just show the gameplay and decklist. Hoping more video in different situation :) Ty
My D/D/Ds brought me all the way to Diamond but it cannot compete consistently with this DPE SS format, i'm gonna try to switch into code talkers and see how they do. Thank you for this guide.
Man, D/D/D just completely DDDestroyed me in my first ever locals. Absolutely horrible matchup for Code Talker. My opponent kept using this XYZ monster to absorb whatever I was trying to combo with. At one point, I was stuck with a Balelynx and couldn’t even relink it. Thank you for watching!
Awesome! Feel free to swap out the Foxy for Grid Sweeper if you want. It’s easier to use, less niche, and serves the same purpose. I recently dropped Foxy since a Grid Sweeper just feels much better IMO.
It was a great refresher and I like how you explained why you did/didn't bring the water extender/shooting code and other extra deck monsters. Cheers mate! Edit: Game volume was a bit loud compared to your voice, maybe lower in-game volume a bit compared to your mic volume?
Absolutely! Heatsoul completely changes the meta. You will want to drop either Link Devotee or the 2nd Transcode for Heatsoul. It's possible to combo without Devotee by using Heatsoul but that also eliminates some extra link combo routes. Losing a second transcode means a much lower ceiling going 2nd.
Great vid man! Few questions tho: Would Tri-Gate Wizard be good? If so, assuming I have your deck build, what should I trade off for? And, considering he needs 3 co-links for his omni-negate, what would the board look like? Finally, would it actually be harder for me since instead of 5 Link Monsters I'd need 6?
@@kusanagi-no-tachi5303 I go over Tri-Gate in my deck profile video. IIRC I said something along the lines of “it’s definitely viable and you have my respect if you use this card, but it personally requires too much of an extra deck investment and is a bit too complicated for my tastes.” I can’t really give you an in-depth answer on how to fit Tri-Gate into this decklist because I don’t use it, but I highly recommend asking around in the Cynet Codec Discord community, linked in the description!
Thank you so much for watching that far into the video! Avramax is definitely still valid, I just feel the 2nd attack from Update Jammer is more important.
I did not learn anything before watching this video but a lot once I found it, thanks it was really great. Something I need to know is how to practice in the game I cant find that feature maybe someone can tell me if there is a way to practice combos in the game
@@skybood1304 thank you for the kind words! Worth pointing out that a lot of the meta-related information such as the deck list and optimal combos are a bit outdated today, but I’m still glad I could help you understand the engine and its win condition! As for practicing, there is still no custom mode, but what I did to make this video was go into the single player campaigns and pick an easy one from early on. Then I just start a new game until I go first. This is a perfect way to practice because there is no time limit and you can really take your time reading the cards. It also gives you practice with various test hands to see the combo potential of any given hand.

Thanks, looking forward to it. Also, if you could include stuff like what to do against various meta decks which have tons of negate set up on field. Can we work around it or its just GG?
@@ishtiyaqueahmed147 I did have one game featured where they negated just about everything I did and I still managed to get out Accesscode; they just delayed my win by a turn.
What do you think about things this deck is still missing? I believe its a link 1 monster help you access the codec, and negates better than tri-gate. Btw the vid is very helpful, keep it up man.
As of right now, all we’re really missing is Decode Talker Heatsoul, which allows you to search Gazelle. That is already hard to add to the decklist because it means either dropping one Transcode (which really hurts), or dropping Link Devotee (which requires adjusting the combo to special summon Gazelle via Firewall and then using Gazelle+Spinny instead of tokens as material). Adding yet another must-have in the extra deck would make it very difficult to decide what to cut. It would be nice if we could get a Code Talker-specific omni-negate boss monster, but again, it would require cutting something, which is hard enough as it is with Heatsoul. At locals, I find that I end up missing both Devotee AND the 2nd Transcode, so I have yet to fully decide on which one to drop. Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out Part 2.
Yeah, it’s generally best to save your Accesscode for when you can attack and make use of the 2nd attack from Update Jammer. It also prevents them somehow having an out for it such as Kaiju before you’re able to use it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for bringing this up! I swapped out Foxy for Grid Sweeper as I find this can be used as both an extender and as backrow removal. In TCG BO3 format I take a lot more backrow removal. You want some form of MST/CC/TT/HFD type card to get rid of those. There is a delicate balance between having enough backrow removal and having enough combo consistency. In this decklist, for MD’s BO1 format, I go all-in on combo potential and deck consistency. I plan on updating everyone on the channel with where I’ve been and my current MD decklist, but I just haven’t figured out how to word the update.
Thanks for the question. Cyberse Gadget is a nice little additional extender, but you only need one. Aside from the additional 60 CPUR that would be required to take a playset, having additional Gadgets won’t actually raise the ceiling of your deck and will only reduce the consistency.
@@piriri1162 I don’t play that deck style, but personally, I wouldn’t. If you want to go for Darkfluid playstyle, use make sure to utilize Diplexer Chimera and Primathmech Alembertian.
