I think a lot is related to time. How much we have or perceive to have left to achieve it not miss out on things. A misspent youth does probably mean I have watched every episode of Colombo though, so that can be a life achievement I guess. Depending on the type, this may help. Don't harbor false hope, but the science backs it up. I am not a medical professional.
