I’m one of those Canadians whose family can trace its origins back to France in the 1600s. I speak both French and English. I have a college education related to STEM. I’m in my 60s now, but I’ve always been under employed and even though I have deep roots in the country my employment prospects have never been great. Most jobs I have had were never really good jobs. Maybe I’m naive to have believed that we live in a meritocracy, but my experience is that the good jobs are handed out to people who are well connected. Look at who our prime minister is. If his name wasn’t Trudeau and wasn’t the son of Pierre, he would never have been elected in the first place. In Canada, the struggle is real.
It’s like that everywhere around the world, it’s not what you know but who you know. Nepotism and whether whoever is running the show likes you or not, or if someone they like can vouch for you.
The female guest has probably NEVER had a conversation with a real Canadian. She GREATLY overestimates the positive sentiment of Canadians towards immigration. And the increasingly negative sentiment goes back years, if not decades. Canadians were never asked, we NEVER voted for this and we don't want it.
I live in the US midwest and come from French ancestry. The US bought the middle part of the US from France, but Canada was invaded by the British Monarchy and stolen. As you know, all of Canada used to be a French colony.
I am like you. I am lose to my 60s. Did engineering and defense. Finding a jobs is hell and I decide to do an MBA and left in the 90s. The country has too few jobs. Immigration is manipulated by businesses which want cheap labour. As for manufacturing,.....what manufacturing other than homes. There is a certain corruption which is polite in Canada. I am on my plan to leave again after coming back during Covid. As a minority in appearance (born in Canada), I hate Canada now.
This thing about people being in danger have a right to apply for asylum is fair enough but often the countries they flee to already have peoplle who are vulnerable that are not being taken care of like the homeless, rape victims, domestic violence victims, the disabled, or just ordinary people working people who can't get jobs or afford reasonable housing. What is their "special" status in the country they were born in?
Our Ontario leaders are not doing enough for the Ontario skyrocketing rental increases. Instead they just focusing on the broader issues, which is ok however they must first deal with the issue of housing needs as in decreasing the number in f people who are on fixed income and low income rentals in Ontario. They can multitask because they have the departments and head of decision makers to handle what they are voted to do. TAKING CARE OF THE LITTLE PEOPLE. By lowing the rent increases and the government giving the enforcement “TOOLBOX”, to the LANDLORD & TENANT BOARD decision members the means of not allowing the rampage of landlords abusing above guidelines rent increases for cost maintaining their business/buildings, as padding this cost off to the renters. This is very import issue too which the media and the government are lacking movements to deal with this important issue which is costing the people of Ontario low income rentals to be priced out of their homes. This also adding to the encampment of the homelessness of the Ontario people. This issue is in control of our Ontario government and can’t b controlled. What are the government of Ontario not focusing on rectifying this very important issues to the people of Ontario which are having an impact on us.
The Cloward-Piven strategy, originally about overloading public welfare systems to prompt reform, could be reinterpreted as a method of destabilizing a country by overwhelming its systems and resources, potentially leading to political change or control. 1. Identify a system to overload, like welfare or public services. 2. Encourage mass participation to strain resources. 3. Use the resulting crisis to push for systemic changes or reforms. TRUDEAU IS A VERY GOOD LEADER. IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB, GO BACN TO SCHOOL OR TAKE REFRESHER COURSES AND IMPROVE YOUR STATUS, SO U COULD GET PROMOTION AND A BETTER WAGE. WHY DID YOU LEAVE FRANCE TO COME HERE THEN?? OR WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK THERE IF THINGS ARE SOO BAD HERE???

The woman on the panel states that "there's no such thing as an illegal refugee". What a joke.
this woman would be willing to be homeless if she cannot pay the rising rent?
"Fraudulent" would be more appropriate. Her boat isn't rocked because her rice bowl is secure.
Here comes increasing crime stats in Canada.
These people are not known to commit many crimes. Nevermind drunk driving. 😇
By 2035 25% of all Canadians will be retired. Canada needs immigration.
Math and Capitalism are hard.

My Mom’s parents came from France. Their first stop was the USA and they decided to head to Alberta, Canada. 🇨🇦

It took Trump to make the liberal government care about the Canadian ppl's wishes.
He is the worst PM ever!
Justin Trudeau is all talk no action. Danielle Smith has made changes, none of Justin's cronies nor him. We have a weak Federal Government.
