The issue is applying too much and unevenly, and can depend on the type of blush one's using. Some blush can go a long way for a tiny dot. And applying it to the fingertips would just have the same effect as applying it directly to the face.
This or apply it directly, just test it on the back of your hand first until you get the right amount for the blush that you want, and no waste of product left on your hand.
It's wasted if you put too much on your face. You buy makeup to look a certain way, so it's also a waste if the way you apply it can't possibly reach that goal.
Yeah, I don't get why they don't use the same technique as for buildable foundations. Just use a bit, blend, and then add more if you need to. The only reason I'd put it on the back of my hand first is to warm it up, but it's not like your cheek is ice cold compared to your hand. 🙄
instead of wasting so much product you can just take a small amount and spread it along the cheeks. just do the second step first with the smallest bit of product
Amazing but I think you could just apply a little amount of blush and then blend it out very soon before it gets stained as a way to prevent waste the product on your hand
I used to do that and trust me, it's harder to blend a cream blush if you put it directly on your face. you'll end up wasting more than you should have anyway from trying to blend it in and it'll still look patchy. or you'll ruin the base once you get the right look. the purpose of using the back of your hand to blend the first drops is to break the blush down so you can put it layer by layer on your cheek and not the other way around. it may look a lot, but it's really not a lot amount of blush used on the hand. you're just seeing it as a lot because she spreads it wide when blending
@@tifadreamers it works for me though. Let people experience on their own to find their own technique. People are comfortable in different ways just like how some people use brush, some use hand, and some use sponge👍
Hi, Haley. I just wanted to thank you for making me confident & comfortable enough with my own skin & going foundation free ( yes, even concealer free). Thank you for being such a huge influence in my foundation free journey. Your videos have been really helpful, love you so much! 🤍
So do I. I used to put a lot of make up on my skin. But putting some make up on my hand and blending on my skin is really good. Now I am quite confident with few make up and it's really natural .
Yes I think in rwal life is important to be aware of the amount of makeup you put in your face, because this influencers put so much makeup to show up in cameras , in real life looks clownish😂
You can also put it on a pallet. You don’t need as much as she put, but she was just trying to show an example of what to do. I do know the brand and color of that blush though.
The point of the blush application is not the she puts product on her hand, idk why everyone keeps mentioning that. This tip shes showing is accurate. With cream products, youre supposed to apply small amounts at a time and layer one on top of the other until your reach desired coverage or pigment. This also applies to foundation and concealer. The reason cakey finishes happen is cuz everyone dumps a crap ton of product directly to the face all at once and dont blend it out properly cuz all of that product has no where to go. I learned this same technique from Pony syndrome, a famous South Korean makeup artist. Obviously you can put less product on your hand, thats not the point lmao.
Placing dots of blush on your face was never a good idea and is purely used by content creators to show the product. It's easier to watch and follow if it's just your face and not many jumpcuts lol. Same goes for "make up artists" that pump foundation straight onto their face in videos it's just a no-no!
People saying that the blush left on the hand is wasted. No. She made a video for demo purposes and that's why used slightly more than necessary. You can normally just use 2-3 drops based on your blush's consistency and pigmentation and believe me it won't go to waste. Lastly, makeup spreads on the skin as it gets warm so it might appear that there's a lot left on your skin but it's actually not that much, it's just smudging and spreading due to the skin's heat and ofc your application process.
Yes I think in rwal life is important to be aware of the amount of makeup you put in your face, because this influencers put so much makeup to show up in cameras , in real life looks clownish😂
If you guys are worried about waste, use a glass palette instead of your hand. The palette won't absorb the product and it's more hygienic in general. Also, be mindful of the amount ESPECIALLY with high pigment liquid blush.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Heb 9:27) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15) For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)
I have textured skin and every time I put liquid or cream blush it always looks like I have light patches on my cheeks bc some part of my skin literally absorbs the blush. it's sad.

You can also put a bit of blush straight onto your fingertip, then apply it to your cheeks!
Yes, that way you won’t be wasting so much product.
warming the blush with your fingers first before applying leads to a more natural finish
The issue is applying too much and unevenly, and can depend on the type of blush one's using. Some blush can go a long way for a tiny dot. And applying it to the fingertips would just have the same effect as applying it directly to the face.
Exactly!!!!

Better overblushed than waste, right!
It's wasted if you put too much on your face. You buy makeup to look a certain way, so it's also a waste if the way you apply it can't possibly reach that goal.

That's why I hate liquid blush. I tend to use too much and now my hands are stained lol. I stick to powder blush instead
Bye bye my tomato looks😂

Great tip about horizontal motions! I always want my blush to be high on my cheeks and not dip down too low and look weird aha.
Glad it was helpful! it works well to not to go too low :)
Arent the ones u put on ur hand gonna be wasted tho

Lol you doing it the wrong way too 😂 like you wasted much product, just apply a little bit on your cheek and spread evenly. That’s it
just put less liquid on your face, stop at one-two tiny dots instead of wasting your product on hand;)
omg you saved me again! i love doing this same technique with under eye concealer that you also taught us, gosh i love and appreciate you so much!🎀🩷
buddy that's not a mistake but in the other hand what ur doing is called waste of product
hear me out, how about putting the tiniest dot on your check instead of putting it on your hands?

Love the shade and it looks good on you. What’s the shade of this lippie and brand?
Why not just use your finger to tap the blush brush then put it on your cheek. Then you’re not wasting any and you still get the same result.
i thought thats how everyone did it hows this not common sense 🤯
