We are not Latinx. Many of us are Mestizo being from Native Nations of the Western Hemisphere and Europe. Many of us have reclaimed this term used to categorize us as not of Sangre Pura (Pure Blood). There is also a term used to identify someone who is from Native Nations of the Western Hemisphere and Africa but some find it derogatory.

It's a political word. The American political left wants Latinos to be ashamed of the word "Latino". The word "LatinX" is being forced on Spanish speakers as a result. It's something that's being viciously resisted for good reason.
Pixar, Please stop using "LatinX." It's derogatory to native Spanish speakers. There's nothing wrong with using "Latino" to include everyone, and the vast majority of Spanish speakers are insulted by a needless correction being forced on them.
Ok but the word Latinx is genderless, there's a lot of languages which focus on the binary gender because the existence of non binary was not acknowledged throughout history,
@@ItSpiatz "Latino" used right includes everyone. A gender neutral word doesn't need to be forced on anyone. The constant backlash towards that word online should show you that this condescending change is not generally welcomed.
@@TheeJosephSantos a gendered word shouldn't be forced on anyone either though, I've never seen a person who doesn't identify as a man or a woman express discomfort about Latinx, but they do about Latino, because it's used to predominantly address men, while Latina is used to address women, and if Latino, a word which is used to address men is supposed to be the neutral term, that basically is like saying that men are lke the blueprint if the word for men is the default one
@@ItSpiatz "Latino" isn't being forced on anyone. That's plainly false. There's a way to use "Latino" in context to refer to everyone. Context matters to Spanish speakers. That's why even women are pushing against "Latinx." The resistance to that condescension is widespread for good reason. Pay attention to context instead of your politics and you'll understand why the change is pointless and insulting. None of that other stuff you're saying is true either. No one said men are a blueprint to anything. That's not implied at all if you're paying attention to context.

Good to know! Thanks!
It is derogatory. Nothing is more condescending than forcing a change on people that didn't ask for it and don't need it.
Nice
Cool
I like how she recreates Pepita's image in papier-mâché form. She even gets the details of her wings right.

Yes exactly! She not is real latina with these word of ignorant people.
It needs to stop. I hate that people are trying to force it on people who did not ask for a correction. It's definitively condescending.
