Howdy Josh! Fate favors the prepared... or something like that lol. Excellent inventory to keep with you! Good thing I read the other comments because I was going to mention the screw on lid and the 7 gallon bucket... but I was too late. Never thought about carrying an extinguisher. Some firefighter I was... 🙄 I'm always fighting the grass collecting around the pulleys on the mower deck and drying out. Unless a bearing dries out I doubt it could get hot enough to actually catch fire. But I still worry about it lol. Thanks for sharing 🤠
I've seen a few posts of barns burned down from fires under parked mowers, no clue how they started and also some major ones with big farm equipment. I've got some stuff to mount them to the roll bars and I figure why not. I'd hate to be on the back 80 watching my tractor burn along with acres of dry grass and timber as I run for a signal in hopes of anyone coming out there to help fight it. I guess better safe than sorry, I too have never ever carried one but I just refreshed all of them in my cabin which is a literal tinder box... :-) Pray I never need any of them.
@@HardyBrothersOutdoors I try to use the leaf blower and clean all the grass off before I put it away, but sometimes I just don't have time. I do usually leave it outside the barn for an hour or two after running it hard. Pop the hood and let the wind help cool it down.
Hey Josh, just a little heads up for you. The white zip ties typically are not UV resistant. If you are using them outdoors go with the black ones. That's a great assortment of things you should have with you and an awesome way to haul them. . Especially the fire extinguisher. Keep up the good work!
Hey Dan, great point! I usually have the black ones that are releasable but need to buy some more, so grabbed these. I lost some chestnut trees due to my tubes falling over so I need to get much better at taking care of them and with the proper equipment... That should be standard equip.ent on tractors and zero turns. I might suggest using a bucket with a screw on lid. Your tools were a little long would a 7.5 gallon bucket fit and work better? You might also consider putting a small drain hole in the bucket.
All very good suggestions... I have used a 7.5 gallon bucket and it worked great... now if I can remember where I put it. Holes is a great idea as is the screw on lid. I like your suggestion on the standard issue as well. I use it all the time and didn't realize how much I'd like it until i used it. Love that I can put it on my side by side too since I have the SnapLok bracket installed there too.
