as a kid, people telling me “he’s picking on you because he likes you” was so infuriating because that doesn’t make it okay that kids are literally hitting you ????
Yep. Even worse than that - instead of telling young girls they shouldn't hit boys unless they are being touched without consent or if they are hit as self-defense they allow them to abuse this power they have over boys and allow them to hit boys for any reason or kiss them without their consent.
Alexis Theiss some other kid bit me when i was younger and they teacher said he just likes u
23Starcatcher yes it doesn’t make sense me being a girl thinks no girl or guy should hit another girl or guy unless like you already said they have a good reason such as self defence no matter what gender or even race!
This is crazy lol I’m a guy and this definitely doesn’t check out no way Jose, your messing with the wrong guys sis lol
Kaiya Anderson but it’s frustrating when a boy is hurting you (even if it’s only a little) and you tell someone you trust and all they do is say “he likes you”. i understand kids don’t understand the weight of their actions but they should be taught right then and there that hitting someone or “picking on” someone, especially when you like them, is not okay. not only does not doing this teach boys their behavior is excusable, it also teaches girls that violence is a sign of love. it’s not okay, even for kids.
Don’t forget “that’s not very lady like” I hate this one.
yeah but if boys act girly they'll be told the same shit "that's not very manly".

"Stop being so emotional" lol the amount of times I've been told that.
How many drinks did you drink tonight. Loooool
I was just thinking that. Lots of men and boys would have been told that but in different context. Women and girls are usually told this as a way of discrediting their experiences, knowledge or opinions. Men and boys, however, are basically trained that the only emotions their allowed to have is happy, okay and angry so when they show empathy, sadness (especially sadness) they're told they're being weak. In fact they're regularly compared to being feminine if they show they're sad or hurt. And as we all know being like a girl or a woman is a terrible thing. Interesting how sexism holds ALL genders back.
But we can push a baby out but you can't stand being sick idk why don't say that when there more emotional😂😂

Another one that I’ve been told: you don’t know how to cook? Who’s going to cook for your husband then? I was 16 at the time
Girl yu don't need to know how to cook. Whatever age yu are rn I'm pretty sure ur a master chef. I'm 14 nd I can't cook but imma learn nd I will get there. Whoever said that to yu is such a disgusting person, I hope yu never felt yu were nothing at that time. I don't know who yu are but I love yu nd the tough times will past through nd happiness will come ur way. Stay safe luv😘❤
Omg same but I’m 13 . My mom always tell me how I’m gonna Cook for my future husband like 😐.
He's going to cook. Because he is a human fucking being and lives in that fucking house. It isn't your responsibility to feed him just like it isn't your responsibility to clean up after him. You guys both take turns doing these things because no one should be forced to do things just because they are a certain gender. I get this too because my dad is constantly telling me how cleaning and cooking is me and my moms responsibility because we are the women.
Even my father cook for himself when my mother is tired...
I feel like you're mexican then
I didn’t realize that “he picks on you because he likes you” was sexist. I used to hear it all the time when I was younger
Not that much sexist but isnt really okay cs they r basically normalising abuse in some cases (like hitting a girl and slapping her butt)
Tamo Neka Hana yeah, I agree. It’s more like casual sexism, or just disrespect
its normalising rape culture. It teaches girls and boys that abuse is a form of love when its not.
I remember getting punched as a little kid and one of the teachers telling me he was “trying to express his love to me”. I’m 100% sure hitting someone isn’t showing love. I hate that people still use that line to excuse shit like that. It’s the start of abusive behavior
Same
The feminism one annoyed me because apparently wanting equal rights is seen as wrong nowadays
literally i don’t understand
It’s because a lot of people who say they’re feminist are saying things that imply that they don’t want to be equal to men, but rather that men are terrible just for being male and that women are better than they are.

It’s so funny how so many guys in the comments are talking about what men are told every day. The thing is, that’s not the point of the video. I’m sorry that you have to go through that but don’t desensitize the claims made this video. It’s so obnoxious seeing all the comments made by men saying that women are too privileged and are complaining about how everyone’s already equal and that problems solved when it’s really not! Yes, men go through it but that doesn’t mean that you can just push aside women’s issues like their minor. Some people are just a little bit ignorant 😔🙄
Ace - Animal Crossing
Well that’s just assuming that because a small group of bad eggs want something that every single one of them want that same thing. There are women out there who want that sort of thing but just because they do exist doesn’t mean that every single feminist wants that exact thing. Also, the freedom of speech excuse is so... ugh... yeah you have freedom of speech, good for you, but don’t be upset or get angry when someone retaliates because we all have freedom of speech
Peacheu we also here most of the things they hear so like what point are they even trying to get across anyway
ainsley d
We know that things like this aren’t exclusively used for women but these in particular are just a small sum of what is said to women everyday. The point of this video in particular isn’t assessing men’s issues, if you want to find a video catering to that then look it up. This video isn’t made to touch on men’s issues that’s no what it’s about.
Peacheu yup 1000% agree. And the people who made this video made one about men but the titles weren’t equal
@@sterloin there was a different video for men and their issues so don't complain
“It’s THAT time of the month.”
that’s not funny or cute. It makes you look like someone who’s never experienced it. You think we *wanna* be angry, frustrated, sensitive? No we don’t.
Moreover, sometimes they say it when we have a strong opinion on something and it's the most frustrating thing ever. Like, you got angry at something they did? You think something is wrong? You want to call out something or someone because uggggggh? They just pull the "that time of the month?" Card and suddenly all your opinions are discredited because you're just hormonal and can't think like a human, yOU CAN'T THINK LIKE A MAN AHDIWBZJW
It's especially "funny" when I'd get angry for them saying that and they'd say "see"? and thinking it's an affirmation of what they just said rather than the fact I am reacting to their statement.
It’s a quick way to invalidate how someone feels and acts. You can’t even rebuttal because there’s no way to prove you are or aren’t on your period, unless you’re open to a pelvic exam. And if people think you are then everything you say after that gets attributed to hormonal imbalance.
@@koemiseina4495 I say that because I genuinely don't know, and also it helps to ask. Most men know when women are on their period their emotions are elevated, asking if they're on it shouldn't be wrong. Men don't know if you are on it so asking is like the only way, I'm not saying ask that every single time a woman gets mad, but I ask when it seems they're unreasonably mad/too mad over something too little. I also ask it just because I want to pinpoint what's wrong, it's usually the first alot of people would ask because it's a commonly accepted thing for women. Id ask that to rule it out, then ask if they're stressed out or are having a meltdown, but a biological thing that occurs to women every month will always usually be the first I ask. Also, a lot of women excuse their behavior during this time period by blaming it on hormones, your assumption that men believe women are incapable of thinking like logical humans is backed up, by other women. Its common that women say it's hormones, or I'm on my period, so how is it rude to think that when that's what women point the finger on? I don't think when women are on their period they're incapable of thinking like a human being, far from it in fact, I think that they are still responsible for what they say, but I allow leeway because I also understand what is contributing to that.
If your being really mean and rude or crying alot of course people are gonna say that because yes you guys can't controll your periods and everything that comes with it but you can choose how to act your smart enough to know that "I'm on my period but I still know how to treat people" IT'S SO SIMPLE.
One time my mother told me she was scared I wouldn’t make friends or a boy/girlfriend cause I don’t shave my legs. I told that if they didn’t wanna be friends just cause I grew hair on my legs, I’m better off without them as a friend.

The video is literally about things that mostly females hear that males DON'T. THEN LOOKING AT THE COMMENTS. Suddenly there's a flood of comments by males being angry and there comments are all based on some political agenda about women AND to be honest, alot of those male hate comments literally makes them sound like they hate females. Like, is those females hurting you? Did they hurt your manly pride? Well, you know what. There's something called being a decent human being and understanding the perspective of how a female might feel. it's called RESPECT and EMPATHY im a male myself too and you dont see me complaining about some political female agenda. its cause i know the video is based from the perspective of a female so I gotta respect it. ALSO, most of the hateful comments by males tell me that they never been taught much manners in life or have any signs of empathy. So in conclusion. Equality=EPIC
It is because our history and culture which goes back 4 million years to the emergence of the first humans and our way of surviving: the man hunts and defends his home and is the big pack leader who decides everything and the woman stays behind and takes care of the children and foraging for food because she is physically weaker (there are many other reasons at play, I have just naming the reason that still causes conflict and drives sexism today). And that mindset has been ingrained in a lot of minds for the past 4 million years, so it's logical that it's going to take a while to put down that instinctive behavior and that instinctive sexism. Therefore, the only key to success is that WE (the first generation to realize that this is not necessary) teach our children that we no longer need this. In some countries this will probably take much longer (e.g. India or Afghanistan). But that doesn't mean that we, the highly developed industrialized countries, cannot teach our children that. All women have to do is stand up for themselves and show everyone that there is another way (exactly what women did before us in the days of industrialization). And there will be conflict, stress and maybe suffering therefore giving, but never let that stop us from being what we want.
I have been told 32 of those 48 things.....I am only 21.

It's fine to point out the sexism women face, but why say that "men don't have to deal with things like these" when it's not true? I'm all for equal rights but this one-sided thinking needs to stop. Strict sexual stereotyping is bad for both men and women
***** That's not the feminism I know. It gets such a bad rep nowadays because people have distorted its message, which is nothing more than equal rights.
+tuila I wish people told me I was pretty qq
+tuila Then why not just say you are for equal gender rights? The word "feminist" in itself is about females only.
***** Feminism is, by definition, a belief that men and women should have equal rights. See here for example: www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feminism It's closely associated with the women's right's movement for obvious historical reasons (women's voting rights etc), but it nevertheless stands for equality for both genders. The message has been somewhat distorted in many of the post-modern US interpretations, but I refuse to let a loud minority dictate the contents of a philosophy with such a long and rich tradition. That's why I keep referring to myself as a feminist - and by that I mean it in the original and traditional sense: equality for all.
tuila The root word in feminism is femininity. That's literally where the word is derived from. The meaning has changed, not by random people, but by the leaders in the modern "feminism" movement. If you think its just about equal rights, you're wrong. In that case the word is obsolete. It would be like you referring to yourself as an abolitionist, and saying its just about equal rights. It makes no sense in a modern context, especially since women have achieved much equality since the early women's rights movements. Feminism in its modern form is about protection of women only. It's a philosophy that revolves around women, sometimes in expense to men. Just say you are for equal gender rights. Calling yourself a feminist just causes more division among gender.
This is just so sad that our society is like this. I’ve been told a lot of these things, and being a girl/woman sucks.

@@MrFredstt they never said the things were supposed to be bad things, your dumbass just assumed that for no apparent reason.
@@fugosfork7907 It was quite obvious this video was meant to show the negative things women deal with that men don't.
One of them is wrong... I always tell my brother he needs to wax his eyebrows
I mean its normal for boys to have "big" eyebrows. For girls were not
Me with my dad's legs! But then, HIS legs AREN'T that big of a deal as MINE..
As a girl from the age of 8 I got told to wax my eyebrows so did all my friends it happened to loads of people :£
@@katieyoung2046 Only by society's standard. If there wasn't pressure for women to wax their eyebrows you'd see a lot more women with thicker brows.
@@shuhuasworkshop8702 Yeah my cousin's family keeps telling her to shave her legs even though she doesn't wear anything other than long pants. They don't even see her legs at that point but still feel the need to say something. 🙄
here from tik tok, this video is beautiful. kinda sad i didn’t find out about this video much earlier, but i’m glad i did and this has a very strong message. ❤️💪
I have been told that I should be careful, and aware wherever I go, and to be with someone all the time, even in my own neighborhood! My parents taught me to be afraid of how I should be able to live... I want to go outside without being worried that I will be kidnapped, or raped, or scared that some man will come up to me and kidnap me, they tell me that if I go outside alone somewhere in my neighborhood, I will never see my parents again because I will be taken away, what parents say to boys... “have fun! And don’t forget to come home early!” This just makes me sick, and it makes me so sad that little girls, and woman like me have to deal with this their whole lives
