+Ryan DeFrees you know, about that deloused ibanez , i thought those days were ended so long ago... there was an incredible concert in 2005 at the electric ballrom of london where he was playing this ax120, this concert on tv was what made me know about volta 10 years a go. so last year when i saw they would play again at that venue right in the period i was gonna be in london (from italy) i thought it was some kind of fate, like getting me a chance to witness the closest thing possible to what i missed in the beginning , with that guitar that symbolised a past era for me. and so it was , magical. except it all happened the day after ikey passed away...
Alberto Tricarico Of course I know of the Deloused guitar! Deloused is my favorite Mars Volta album. I was never lucky enough to see them live from that time but I definitely have studied the available videos of that era. It does suck that Ikey has passed. I was really hoping one day that they would all reunite to play that album again, unfortunately that is not so. I do hope that Omar and Cedric reunite with Jon Theodore and Juan at some point. Bring back the original BEST Volta. Would kill to see that incarnation!

Good point. Well, personally my least favorite MV albums are Octahedron and Noctourniquet.
I think Antemasque is not nearly as good as TMV, but I believe it was time for them to close that chapter and start a new one. And I like this new chapter. It's refreshing.

Fucking dreams do come true....Fucking super band. My God. Why fucking not Omar! THEY ARE AS FUCKING TIGHT AS FUCK. So good. Just so happy right now to know they are back together and rocking as fucking free and hard as they ever have. So fucking beautiful.
Thought nothing could surprise me when it comes to solos anymore, then Omar comes and turns upside down my view on music one more time!!
One of my main guitar inspirations since I first heard ATDI's One-Armed Scissor a couple of years ago.
The solo section in this reminds me of the solo section from Zappa's Packard Goose.

oh hey, music that Cedric can actually still sing well! Dunno what happened to him, but he simply couldn't hit most of the Mars Volta vocal stuff over the last couple years of their existence. Granted, it's incredibly difficult, but he used to nail it back in the day.

Thank you IntuitiveMediums! This is a great video: High Def Picture. GREAT capture of the duet of the guitar lines and Cedrics Voice. Leave the bass slightly out, that's how I like to get the most coherence of the nuances. Afterall, the bass is more of a live feeling, and thats why you should attend live shows. I am so enthralled by this performance though.... I was hoping these guys would seague/interlude/jam these new songs out... OK Just heard Omar's solo. WHo is still frickin throwin it down like that these days?!? ANYways, thanks IntuitiveMedums for posting this. Great stuff.
