Ok, people make mistakes, **BUT** on a 2 lane paved road with a Left turn lane there is A LOT OF ROOM to correct for traffic misjudgment. To have a head on crash it takes both parties not paying attention. I personally have been run off the road due to a person coming into my lane TWICE. I have also witnessed two separate times where a car is crossing the center of the road into my lane, but far enough ahead that the car in front of me was going to be hit. Twice I got on my brakes and started to plan where I would go to stay out of the carnage. In both of those incidents the car that was traveling toward me steered back into it's own lane just in time to avoid impact and the cars ahead of me didn't see anything until the radical pull back by the oncoming driver and they both steered into the ditch. Their adjustments were delayed by way too much time to be a part of the solution. They were unaware until the other guy corrected. AND MY OWN SON was in a head on where a young girl crossed the center and hit him in the drivers side headlight. My son was a fairly new driver, but not that new, and we had just had a conversation where I told him he might be involved in an accident and to call me asap pronto like right now, and he did. I was 3 miles/ 5 mins away and got there befor any first responders. The teenage girl was still in her car doing something on her phone *(that's what I believe was the cause of the collision) but that doesn't let my son off the hook. He was coming down from the top of the hill, he had the birds eye view, and if he was paying attention he could have easily avoided that collision, but never even hit the brakes. My son was in a fairly heavy pickup, a 1987 Dodge W250 Power Wagon with the old style 4 wheel drive. (cast iron NP 205 transfer case and dana 60 axles) IN OTHER WORDS IT WAS HEAVY, and he ended up facing the opposite direction in the ditch on the other side of the road. She had about a 95 Pontiac Grand Prix and was still on the pavement facing her original direction in her lane. Although everyone involved walked away, the Dodge suffered a punctured Left front tire, front bumper, grill, hood, Fender and driver door replacement, her car was totaled. If either of them would have been DRIVING DEFENSIVELY, E.g. watching all roads, driveways, for deer, dogs cats or each car going the other way, it would not have even happened. AND when I called the cops for a police report they were not going to mention anything about her age, the phone or the fact that she crossed a Yellow line and caused the collision. The cop said he gave her a careless driving ticket. I said she crossed a solid Yellow line and destroyed two vehicles, that's reckless. He said he didn't want to blemish her driving record because she told him she was falling asleep. BS, at 3pm on a bright sunny day at about 90°F? She had her windows up, so I know she had AC. She was as awake as can be, just texting away, and they could have asked the phone company to verify it. I only hope she learned something and stopped texting befor she killed herself or someone else. While on the phone with the cop, he volunteered that my son tried to stop as there was an eye witness right behind him who said so. And there was a long single skid mark. Well, that truck has *(I still have it) a limited slip differential called "Sure Grip" which means both wheels have to go and stop at the same time. And the skid mark was about 5 inches wide and did not match the whopping huge Michelin LTX AT 16'' X 12" tire that the tread measures 9 inches wide. Cops should do their job and report the facts.
Anything West of Dequindre and like North of 13-14 mile is a different name. East of Dequindre it’s still the numbers until 35-36 around the Ford Proving ground. It changes closer to 94 in the 30s.
Probably a illegal pass through there on the turn lane. I drive through there all the time and people are always passing illegally on the turn lane through there
I drive that road at least once a week and drove it for about 4 years daily when I worked out that way. People do drive a bit fast on that road but not that bad the speed limit is 45-50mph but I have seen a few folks going 70mph through there and passing in the turn lane occasionally. By the way the cars were positioned and by the damage it looks like a car crossed he center line and they were going about 50mph.
What the F is wrong with people who read of a horrible accident so drive over to check on it???
Probably trying to be neighborly… it’s pretty rural out here.
Off duty first responder I think…
Pretty sure in Oakland county that's Romeo Rd.
1/4 south of Romeo Rd and I passed through there 30 minutes before this crash

That's remote. I didn't even know mile road numbers got that high.
It’s Fred Moore Hwy if you’re passing on 94.
After 8 mile I quit counting.
