Hmm. I'm 70. This brings back some fond memories for me. Specifically, Viet nam in the late 60's early 70's. Tear gas, violent arrests, clubs, hand cuffs, cops out of control. I disagree in principle with the pro-Palestine demonstrators (I think their grasp of Middle Eastern history is weak tea), but I support 100% their right to protest this war. I've never been a fan of war. People get hurt. Killed even. In the end, not much is accomplished except for those who manufacture the weaponry. They do quite well. This plays into the hands of Hamas: this is exactly the kind of global backlash they envisioned against Israel, knowing as they did, that the attack on 10/7 would unleash the hounds. Israel is now viewed as the 'aggressor'.Hamas has always been willing to use the weak and vulnerable to advance their agenda. This is no different. I stand with Israel. (Despite Yahoo, who is a dangerous douche bag). These misguided kids are entitled to their opinion and their right to demonstrate, but I think they need to scrutinize the facts a bit more thoroughly. The thing most people use as justification for dehumanizing them, that they voted for Hamas, is undercut by the fact that their only other option was electing the corrupt and Israeli controlled Palestinian Authority. I don't feel "normal college behavior" is anything but a life lesson, on how NOT to act in life.
