The Boardwalk Town - Ep. 124 RAN Sailing

  • The small community of Elfin Cove is built on boardwalks and the big happening of the day is when a seaplane arrives. It's a neat town and we enjoy our time waiting for weather. Next stop is Hoonah, one of the biggest Native American communities in Alaska and we begin the day going through a pass with strong currents and fog.
    We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us.

    Always soulful, relaxed and calm. Working upside-down in in tight quarters "Got it done, No big deal"; Hiking hours up a step wet slope "What a beautiful view way up here"; Sailing through a big storm "That was challenging"; Enjoying a small village "What a beautiful life here ". The two of you bring the art of being human to life. Happy cruising and love the videos.

    The last scene was priceless for me. Malin was diligently unpacking the groceries..., while Johan was turning around, picking up the milk, and then placing it back down in the exact same place! Well played, Johan... well played!

    For some of us ,Hoonah holds a special place for those whom have traveled the great Salisbury Sea .
    Decades ago, when young ,we , the ones whom traveled the inland waters to Alaska , Hoonah was a place of beautiful people , village world . With young people trying desperately to keep up with the new spirit world growing.

      We have a fascist president who puts children in jail and is in a treasonous relationship with Russia. Only a handful of Republicans stand up to him. We sometimes act shamefully.

    • @2decepcionados
      @2decepcionados 6 лет назад +1

      @@dianeswift, beware, don’t be brainwashed by media and celebrities (Whoopie, Sharpton, Cher, and the likes) and by tv midnight negligent hosts, for your education. We used to have a socialist President that allowed illegal immigration to increase the Democrats vote base by offering free health care, food stamps, education, etc., to unrestricted illegal immigrants, all paid by Americans workers. (BTW: my ethnicity is Hispanic (not LATIN!) . But, even though didn’t agree with Obama policies, my democratic values impede me to thrash or hate him with unsubstantiated partiality. President Trump policies are for America not for a personal public relation image throughout the world.
