This was an excellent help - thank you. I empty the drain hose regularly but had stayed away from the pump filter as this seemed to be more of a 'big job'. However thanks to you it was a harmless and usefully spent 10 minutes. Also - just as a hint if I may - to drain the small hose I use a 500ml plastic water bottle (one of the square shaped ones) and this is usually large enough to drain in one go , so long as you hold the open end up a bit as the bottle fills up, which saves all that precarious balancing with the tray. It was working ok anyway, I just wanted that button back, plus the terrible online instruction manual said that items left in the pump filter can cause damage. It continued to work fine after I got the spikey bit of metal out of it anyway, thank you!

hi, before running the clean wash programme, does the spin speed matter? as i noticed yours was set to 800. it's just that with no spin it'll reduce the clean wash programme, thanks
@@LurgsHowToGuides So my daughter and I are sitting on the floor in front of our washing machine totally at a loss as to how to check filter etc....my daughter says "Shall l check RUclips Mum ? " and there you were. 👍
Partner: Lurgs, have you been using my toothbrush for cleaning the washing machine again? Lurgs: Umm, no. Better use the toothbrush quickly before your partner sees you holding it
Very useful video. Please, which Beko washing machine (WM 622) model were you using for the demonstration. I like it because It has fewer programmes and I am looking to buy a new Beko - I always buy Beko. Thanks for your attention.
Very helpful video! I have an old Beko in my rented flat, but the filter won’t turn more than 1cm anticlockwise, I don’t know why! Any tip on how to unblock the opening? I keep turning left and right but nothing changes. Thank you!
Probably something caught inside, usual culprits are metal hair clips or coins. Try tightening then untightening and maybe also try bumping machine around if you can to see if it will dislodge. May then have to get a bit more forceful. Hope you can get it out, good luck.😎
I did this for an ex-girlfriend and the impeller was all seized up with a lot of tangled and knotted elastic bands. I had to keep snipping and pulling at them with scissors and long nosed pliers. Her name was Calamity Claire. She once lost a mobile phone that full of dirty sexting texts (which was a worry for a little while in case of who might find it), then she found it again inside her duvet cover, on the bed, in beside the duvet (???). I wish her all the luck in the world, going forward.
Can you give some advice, I’ve opened my lint trap but I only found coins and some hair yet i still find these tiny grey-ish clumps of what i can only assume is lint on my washed clothes. When wet the clumps are really hard to get off but once they dry its kind of flaky even. Is this normal? Is there a way to fix it?
Yes that is normal unfortunately due to man made fibres in clothes, you see it alot in Tumble Dryer filters. You can buy cloth bags that you put your clothes inside which traps it all.
I definitely have a huge tangle of hair in my filter but I can't pull it out with my hands or tweezers. Do I need a bristle ended hose to get it out or should I just call someone in?
I have threw out my manual, there is a cycle option for drum clean, do I have to put anything in the drawer? Or anything in the machine? Or just leave it all completely empty?
It's best to use Washing Machine Cleaner like Dr. Beckmanns, if you haven't got any put a tiny bit of detergent in the main drawer or in the drum directly, not too much else you'll get Sudslock where you get too much soap and it will pour out of every crevice! (fun to watch but not fun to clear up).😎
Hi my machine is only few months old and I don't think it's washing my clothes good wen they start to dry or go in tumble drier they got a horrible smell on them my washing isn't going soapy even after putting in 3 cap fulls of detergent. Also if I do a 60 wash should my drum be at least warm its stone cold.. Think I've got a problem somewhere I've cleaned out the filter like you done.. Do u have a video to show all packaging out and what hose goes to what 🙈
If you do a 60c wash the drum glass should get pretty hot during the cycle, if not then your machine is faulty. The machine should heat up the water to the desired temperature. Do an empty wash at 60c then check drum glass during the wash.
HI, so last night i noticed my clothes were really sopping after cleaning, and realised the drum had stopped turning. I did some research and have arrived here, and am in the process of cleaning the filter.. Annoyingly will have to use pliers as the cap is stuck... Heres my question : even when im done cleaning the filter will the machine start working again ? I have pre drained the water via the black hose ... Thanks. :/
Well it depends. Maybe the filter was blocked or maybe your drainage pump has failed. You won't know till you try another wash. Good luck, hope it's ok
@@LurgsHowToGuides thank you. Well its clean now and free from gunk, but unfortunatly i tried a cycle , and just a litte jet of water came out and the drum did not spin. I suppose its time to call in an expert?
Hi there. My beko washing machine is working normal but at the end of the cycle the machine isn't draining all the water. And the door is unlocking . I've had to empty it with a cup so it's filling up fine . I disconnected the the waste pipe I think it is and there is nothing blocked. When I'm trying to unscrew the filter there is too much water flooding out I've not got anything that I can fit under it to catch the water. Have you got any ideas what it is
I can't see a flap at the bottom on the front to unclip and be able to access the pump filter on my Beko WIX765450. So am I correct in assuming it is at the back and I need to pull the washing machine out before I can access the pump filter? Thanks
When I take the bung of the tube nothing comes out. I’ve emptied it using the filter and the filter was really clean but my machine is just always full of bubbles. Do you think there could be a blockage further up?
I loved the comment about the people underneath you will not being impressed. Talk about stating the obvious 😂. I thought the neighbour underneath might enjoy a stinky water pouring into their flat. Also the comments about someone being in trouble and using your wife's toothbrush. You are a cruel, cruel man 😂 😜
@@LurgsHowToGuides It certainly did. Makes a normally dull video about mundane tasks much more interesting and enjoyable whilst hopefully fixing the problem. It hopefully will when I have the strength back in my hands to try and twist it off. Mine doesn't have the pipe though and just the round dial. I don't think I'd want to your wife though 😂. I dread to think what you're getting her for Valentine's 😂 😜 😩 😬 🙄 😉 😊 😮

@@LurgsHowToGuides Nah, never too old. Buy her a new toothbrush 😂. Well.done though. 24 years is incredible.and so rare these days. What's the secret??? I think we'd all love to know 😁 😜 🤗 🥰
Great video! But one thing I'm wondering is does the washing machine need to be turned off at the plug socket? Because I live in a rented property and the socket is behind the washing machine and there is no way for me to reach it. The instruction manual says not to do it without turning it off. 🙃
@@maggiechalmers3549 My letting agents told me to do it without unplugging or turning off the mains. I did it and was okay but I intend never to again lol. As it happens I am moving, so it won't be my problem ever again.
Don't take that apart its a sealed unit impeller. You need to get it out, try scissors to cut it and then some tweezers or screwdriver to pull the debris out. Good luck
Hi i cleaned everything as per your video aa when on a wash cycle it washes but doesn't rinse and spin and there are loads of bubbles. I can't find a blockage anywhere 😕. Can you help? I have the wtb840e1w. Thank you
@@LurgsHowToGuides yep it was that, ordered the part and fitted it myself and all perfect. Thanks for advice. Oh and i used my husbands toothbrush to clean instead of mine 🤣🤣🤣
Hi could you help me?! I put a wash load on but it didn’t drain so I cleaned out the filter and LOADS of water has came out. But when I unscrewed the cap, I noticed the cross spin bit you can see at the back of the hole has came off and it won’t go back on. Any idea if that’s the cause and how I can get it back on? Would be much appreciated!
Yes that will definitely be the cause as that is the impeller that spins and pumps the water away, without it it’s like an old airplane without a propellor! You could try drying it all out and super glue it back on, but I doubt it would hold, you may need a new pump unit or if the machine is really old then maybe a new machine. Good luck.
Iv just done this step by step and noticed the propeller seems to be very loose. Could this be the problem why the water won’t drain out my machine. Stops mid cycle and won’t drain. Makes a loud noise as it’s trying. Would love to hear back from you
The impeller\propeller shouldn't be loose. You should be able to turn it round but it shone rigid in its position. If machine not that old you could try a repair or a new pump. Else if it's pretty old it may be easier to get a new machine. Good luck
Unfortunately it's bound to be a metal hairclip stuck in there. Just keep going undoing and doing up and hopefully it will move and clear so you can undo it.
Hi. The little impeller behind the filter keeps coming loose when I run a wash and the machine won't drain. Do you know what the fix would be for that? Thanks
Probably a new pump as it’s one whole unit. Guess you could try drying it all and maybe try SuperGlue. Hope you can get it sorted. If it’s an old machine it may not be worth the cost of a new pump
I’ve got a Beko washing machine, but not exactly the same model. It can’t finish any program and leaves dirty water at the bottom. I found another video about it before yours. I drained the water from the short hose. Unfortunately, my filter is completely stuck and I can’t move it at all! How can I remove it?!
@@paulbraun5657 Try untightening and tightening multiple times to see if the object clears. It is bound to be a metal hairclip. If not you may have to get a bit more forceful, but be careful as the filter is only plastic. Good luck.
@Untightening and tightening WHAT?! As the dial on the filter won’t move at all, I can’t do this to it. Are you talking about doing this to something else? There’s an area bordering the dial on the upper right which looks different to the rest of it. I wonder if this is some kind of clip which I need to somehow undo. I can’t see how. I’ve also sprayed WD40 onto it.
Unlikely as then the washing machine wouldn’t fill with water. I get lots of comments where softener doesn’t dispense properly, must be a common issue. You could try diluting it a bit or try a different make

hi, before running the clean wash programme, does the spin speed matter? as i noticed yours was set to 800. it's just that with no spin it'll reduce the clean wash programme, thanks
That’s the final rinse speed so you could increase it if you wanted to.

Unfortunately it's bound to be a metal hairclip stuck in there. Just keep going undoing and doing up and hopefully it will move.

My black drainer only had few drops of water is that a problem also the filter part drainer alot of water could this also be a problem.
Thank you
If the filter is clear it should all be good
My filter cap seems to be stuck fast. Feels like it will break if I put more force behind it. Any udeas why that might be?
Probably something caught inside, usual culprits are metal hair clips or coins. Try tightening then untightening and maybe also try bumping machine around if you can to see if it will dislodge. May then have to get a bit more forceful. Hope you can get it out, good luck.😎
Very useful, thank you very much

Glad I could help out and that it was useful. 😎
Teaching me things my father was never there to 😅
Thanks. Glad to help out. 😎
Unbelievable, I just removed my filter to find... (drumroll please!) a penny and a hairclip! 😂
Oh shame it wasn’t a gold coin! Glad my video helped 😎
Would the filter catch a 'colour catcher'?. I used one but could not find it with the laundry afterwards.
Yes definitely, they are very common things to find in Filters!
I've checked and it's not there. A bit of a mystery but thanks for your reply.
Oh, could be trapped in the drum rubber somewhere or in a pocket and you hadn't noticed.
@@LurgsHowToGuides No, can't see it in the drum rubber and nothing with pockets in the laundry. Never mind, hopefully the mystery will resolve itself.
Thank you so much really appreciated
Hope it’s all working 😎
It's working perfect.
I definitely have a huge tangle of hair in my filter but I can't pull it out with my hands or tweezers. Do I need a bristle ended hose to get it out or should I just call someone in?
Try cutting it with scissors then pulling out the smaller clumps.
(fun to watch but not fun to clear up).😎
The softener compartment on my beko isn't draining the liquid. I've took it out and cleaned but it's just staying there
Check the nozzles inside on the roof to make sure they aren’t blocked. Maybe try watering down the softener incase it’s too thick
thanks - extremely helpful.
Fantastic news. glad I could help. 😎
Thank you, worked perfectly
Fantastic news. glad I could help. 😎
You have to weigh up cost of a visit and repair (£60+ minimum) or go for a new one. Depends how old it is.
Hi is a quick wash long enough when cleaning a beko as it isnt a new one?
Need to do a 90c wash or drum clean as a quick wash won’t clean it through properly
You are a legend!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful. 😎
Really helpfull m8.thanks
My pleasure, glad it helped. 😎
By mistake I put inside pump filter pls can you explain how to pull out next to filter in beko washing machine.
Not sure what you mean? Do you mean the drainage hose has disappeared? You will need to try to retrieve it somehow
Have you got any ideas what it is
You’ll need to remove the filter, just unscrew slowly and soak up with an old towel. Probably something in the filter. Good luck
I can't see a flap at the bottom on the front to unclip and be able to access the pump filter on my Beko WIX765450. So am I correct in assuming it is at the back and I need to pull the washing machine out before I can access the pump filter? Thanks
It could be, best check the manual or online to see where the filter is located
When I take the bung of the tube nothing comes out. I’ve emptied it using the filter and the filter was really clean but my machine is just always full of bubbles. Do you think there could be a blockage further up?
@@BridieMoore-i8l Not sure. Check all drainage pipework. Could be a faulty pump maybe
Thank You.

@@LurgsHowToGuides It certainly did. Makes a normally dull video about mundane tasks much more interesting and enjoyable whilst hopefully fixing the problem. @@Linda220677 Secret is she has put up with me for that long! Dunno what the secret is really, something you can’t explain easily
Great video! But one thing I'm wondering is does the washing machine need to be turned off at the plug socket? Because I live in a rented property and the socket is behind the washing machine and there is no way for me to reach it. The instruction manual says not to do it without turning it off. 🙃
Yes ideally you would turn off the mains power just to be safe.
Mine is behind machine to.. I just did it plugged in 🤪
@@maggiechalmers3549 My letting agents told me to do it without unplugging or turning off the mains. I did it and was okay but I intend never to again lol. As it happens I am moving, so it won't be my problem ever again.
At the back there’s like a fan somethings wrapped around it how do I take that apart?
Don't take that apart its a sealed unit impeller. You need to get it out, try scissors to cut it and then some tweezers or screwdriver to pull the debris out. Good luck
Can I take the filter out and run an empty cycle to clean the pipeline leading to the filter?
No, water will pour out all over your floor if the filter isn’t screwed in tight.
Bro, where did you buy that tray? 😅
Just the lid of an old biscuit tin I think. Have a fab weekend. 😎
@@LurgsHowToGuides thanks mate, you too
Hi i cleaned everything as per your video aa when on a wash cycle it washes but doesn't rinse and spin and there are loads of bubbles. I can't find a blockage anywhere 😕. Can you help? I have the wtb840e1w. Thank you
It could be a faulty motor then. Might be worth checking the drainage pipework though to make sure that isn't blocked up.
Good luck.
@@LurgsHowToGuides thank you! I did dry and superglue it back on and it’s stayed on for 2 days so far so we will see how it gets on! :)
@@bonnielangham6683 ooh nice! Hope it holds for you
Hi I've the same machine, I've followed all your advice, however the little propeller is a bit stiff, any suggestions, thanks
Not much you can do about that really. Probably the motor. Just make sure it’s all nice and clean and can spin freely
I cant seem to get the blue lid off my little hose - although im pretty weak
Good luck
With the filter I am only able to turn the cap about 90 degress and it wont go any further. Any help?
It will be a metal hair clip probably. Keep tightening and untightening until hopefully it falls and clears so you can undo it
Thanks for that
Glad it helped 😎
Iv just done this step by step and noticed the propeller seems to be very loose. Could this be the problem why the water won’t drain out my machine. Stops mid cycle and won’t drain. Makes a loud noise as it’s trying. Would love to hear back from you
The impeller\propeller shouldn't be loose. You should be able to turn it round but it shone rigid in its position. If machine not that old you could try a repair or a new pump. Else if it's pretty old it may be easier to get a new machine. Good luck
@@LurgsHowToGuides any idea how I could repair it. What are the chances of it coming loose?
@@wezjones24 would be very difficult to repair if it’s a loose impeller
@@LurgsHowToGuides ok thanks for your time mate
What do I do if that little pipe at the bottom has fallen through? I can’t get to it as it’s fallen down 😅
You need to get that back out, maybe try some long nose pliers or something.
What do you if the filter wont come out? I can only twist half a turn, sounds like there could be something caught in it 🙁
Unfortunately it's bound to be a metal hairclip stuck in there. Just keep going undoing and doing up and hopefully it will move and clear so you can undo it.
@@LurgsHowToGuides Thank you I will give it another go!
@lurgs how to guide my washing machine not rolling what to do😢
It could be a broken belt or a motor or any number of things.
Thank you sir! Super useful!
Glad to help. 😎
Apparently there is a mesh in the filter to catch stuff but I can't see it anywhere - where is it?
None that I’ve ever seen
@@LurgsHowToGuides Thanks for the reply. I've given it a try so fingers crossed 🤞
@@paulbraun5657 Not sure I was talking about the filter wherever that is, probably blocked with debris

please? Thank you.
Could be the washing programme you use doesn’t use the softener, or the softener is too thick maybe
@@LurgsHowToGuides Thanks for replying but do you think the water inlet may be blocked?
Unlikely as then the washing machine wouldn’t fill with water. I get lots of comments where softener doesn’t dispense properly, must be a common issue. You could try diluting it a bit or try a different make
@@LurgsHowToGuides OK will do, thanks.
