Colfax used to be a lot busier because up until the merger with Union Pacific, Southern Pacific would base a number of SD45 "tunnel motors" at Colfax as manned helpers to assist freight trains going over Donner Summit.
The Autorack train i believe originated from Milpitas bound for Nebraska!
I think more UP train traffic has been diverted down the San Jauquin valley and up the Valley sub!
Probably the short consist was the Sparks to Roseville move!
It was a great day with all of us together bro
