Thanks for all the great videos! I just got a chuck and put it on today and was wondering what to do next! Now I think I have a plan! This is so helpful and your shallow bowl is beautiful! I'm definitely going to try the blowtorch trick too! Thanks again and stay safe!
Thanks for your comment Jolox I'm glad the video was helpful, I've made a few videos on how to use traditional woodturning tools and how to sharpen them which might come in handy too 😁 thanks for watching.
Just recently subscribed and am enjoying viewing some of your past videos. You have a nice style of explaining what you do. Question, if I may: where did you get that semi-flexible dust extraction hose? I like the way you can flex it into position and adjust it .
Thanks Mike really appreciate your comments. I bought my extractor which came with the hose second hand on eBay. So I've just had a search on line for you and I think I have found the same hose, available from Axminster tools and machinery: www.axminster.co.uk/stayput-extraction-hose-ax22323
I don't think it is food safe as it is not indicated on the tin, normally if a product is food safe it will be indicated on the products packaging. With liming wax you can apply a finish over the top of it like a wax or a lacquer, although I only tend to use it on decorative pieces. The best person to ask would be Terry Smart over at Chestnut Products as he could give you a definitive answer. I hope that helps :-)
Hi Chris thank for your comment, I do edit my own videos, I'm slowly getting there as I haven't got a filming or video editing background so I'm learning as I go along.
That’s awesome buddy. Good for you! I also turn wood, I can turn wood and record all day. But learning to edit is a bitch haha. Very good video man. Loved it.
Hi Dave, thanks for your comment, I make the logo inserts myself out of laser ply, I've designed the logo on a CAD package and send it to a laser cutter to engrave the logo and cut the disks out. Alternatively You can get branding irons online or at the toolpost that will give you similar results 😁
love your work I was wondering were do you get your logo's from I'm just starting out I did turning in school 40+ yrs ago in N.Wales and like the idea of using those logo discs Diolch
Thanks for your comment Colin, glad to hear your getting back into Woodturning :-) I make my own logo disks, I've designed my logo on a CAD package and send it to a laser cutter to engrave the logo and cut out the disks, before I had access to a laser cutter I use to use a branding iron available at the Toolpost (shop in Didcot) I hope this helps 😁

I'm having a problem finding out if Liming wax is food safe. Have you any thoughts on this. (Montana Wood Art).

Also what program do you use to edit?!
I've been using a free software called shotcut, following you tube tutorials to help me edit :-)
Hi Tom, nice piece, I’ve just found your channel and subscribed. Where do you get your logo inserts from?
