I have a small section on my forum that is for information on the correct way to restore antique fire alarm boxes. I see too many people taking these antiques, stripping the original paint by sandblasting, repainting them with super high-gloss auto enamel or powder coatings, adding on fake eagle toppers, pinstriping and decals, polishing brass that was originally meant to be painted, replacing missing glass with cheap plastic and calling that a "restoration."
