As a Mariners fan, its very encouraging to see us make a move and try to make the team better... I think the main problem is our stadium, Teo just said in a interview that he felt like he wasnt able to line up with pitcher when he was here and it messed him up... I like if we altered our batters eye it would benefit the team drastically... We have that black wall in centerfield but its angled... I feel like if we made it a straight wall it would make a huge difference
Good move. Randy’s value is being inflated by the fans a bit. Slow start plus an increasing salary. For where his value is RIGHT NOW, it’s a fair trade.
As the Mariners fan, I think you’ll end up winning this trade 5 years from now Both Smith and Hopkins are way higher prospects than what they are listed both have loads of potential we still don’t know who to be named later is also
@@sadmarinersfan8935 unfortunately that’s how it works with the rays but we never win anything in the end. Win trade after trade but if we can’t win the big one then what’s it matter in the end but ima be rooting for yall specially against the Astros 💙
😂😂😂 I wonder if they looked around the market, thought other guys were too expensive, and settled with Arozarena who despite the strikeouts, has shown the ability to get on base.
Final step make the Blue Jays an offer they can't refuse for Vlad, Jr. (immediately extend him). Force their hand, their delusional, they're not competing next year either
Smith is a border line top 10 prospect for us so I think it’s a fair trade I’m a bit worried about the player to be named later tho hopefully no one in the top 15
I for one honestly do not understand this trade arozarena is almost the same player that teoscar Hernandez is they let him go and he has a better batting average more home runs better RBIs and a better ops could have just kept him I don't think he fixes their problems unless Julio Rodriguez starts to hit they're not going anywhere
Just saw AJ Puk against O's in Miami, he totally shut them down for 2 innings. Marlins have a really good group of relievers for such a terrible team. I hope O's get at least one of them, Scott, Faucher, Cronin or Nardi.
Mariners now need another good bat (think Yandy Diaz, Jesse Winker, Jonathan India) and an average bat (think Mark Canha, Danny Jansen, Jazz Chisholm, etc) and they are true World Series contenders if JRod heats up
Mariners are not going to do more after this trade. We are HORRIBLE at doing anything during the offseason and especially during the mid season trade. I hope I eat my words, because I’m sick of Scott and Jerry and the owner
Can someone explain to me why other teams don’t do this. He’s not on such a large contract and they barely gave up anything for him, it doesn’t make sense to me why most contending teams wouldn’t do this in an instant. I’m no expert on salary restrictions but couldn’t a team like the rangers or braves or guardians to name a few just ship 2 lower level prospects (per the report, don’t actually know anything about them) for randy arozerena?? He had a slow start to the season but he’s heating up and is proven really good player that would significantly elevate contending teams or teams on the brink. Per the report I read the mariners are only taking on 2.8M of his 8M contract this year. What would be the downside of this??
This really don't help the mariners unless he plays way better than he has this year. If he continues to play as he has so far this year this is pretty much nothing.
Smith is a border line top 10 prospect for us so I think it’s a fair trade I’m a bit worried about the player to be named later tho hopefully no one in the top 15

Don’t know if Randy was the move for the Mariners but if he turns it around that’s huge, Puk deal was a huge steal for the Marlins, Rare W by them
We ain’t done yet 🔥 let’s go get more baby
not necessarily, they have the #1 pitching staff in the league, it’s just their offense that sucks but adding bats at the deadline should help.
Honestly man as a rays fan I’m okay with this not shocked at all good luck Randy thank you for the memories

Seattle isnt done
There is no way the mariners front office thought to themselves - “you know what we need? More strikeouts”

Hopefully this can help Seattle. I think Randy should continue to stay hot which would really turn up Seattles offensive production

The X-Rays are negative. I think mid-August is a reasonable projection for Julio's return.
It's a high ankle sprain, mid-august return and would have to be eased back into the lineup

Hi Robbie
👋
Poor Randy will just rot in Seattle just like all who've come before him. Even Shohei can't save this team.
I do wonder if he’ll be enough. Feels like they need another bat even with Randy.
Rays fleeced once again. Y’all will see by 2026
