  • After a good night’s rest and driving through the beautiful village of Jacobsbaai where we spent the night, we hit the road to Tietiesbaai. We have heard many anecdotes and seen many bumper stickers about Tietiesbaai but we have never been there ourselves. Very excited about seeing this place, we arrived and to our surprise Tietiesbaai is in the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve! We always thought it was a small village and there were actually no houses or shops in sight! It was a pleasant surprise and we loved driving through the reserve. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #jacobsbaai #tietiesbaai

If you call my Jacobs bay, dal again you will not be welcomed back into my bay. 😆
We build our houses according to guidelines. We try to stick to the old fisherman styled homes.

I got completely confused with our host being from Jacobsdal and us staying at the Jacobsdaller in Jacobsbaai. It will not happen again! 😁😁 We loved the fact that the houses are so uniform, it creates a very authentic fishermans village atmosphere. We will be back!

Debbie and Florence will remember this: Years ago, an Afrikaans TV-foodie-thing featured on SABC 2 I think. We were still at our "landgoed" in Bloemfontein. The host was Pieter Pieterse preparing all kinds of sea food. Staying with his wife "Die Engelsman" in a caravan at Tietiesbaai! He used a lot of yellow salt (Aromat/Fondor) in his food.

Hey Curt and Sonnie. I just love this vlog. And take this in a good way. I have quite a good knowledge of Afrikaans - but help me here to translate to English please: Tieties-baai, Moertoegepomp etc. I just can’t stop laughing. Hehe. Please explain to the rest of the world. Brilliant intro.

Tietiesbaai I can try. I think the best would be Boobies Bay. LOL. I would really need help with Moertoegepomp. I would love some suggestions. Please watch the language! LOL
