- With Sound Transit's 2 Line opening on the eastside, the Bellevue Police Department announced its newest patrol team: the Bellevue Light Rail Unit (BLU).
The BLU will patrol within the eight-stop route of the Link light rail 2 Line, both onboard the trains and in the stations, according to police.
Police said the BLU's mission is to "foster a safe and positive riding experience for individuals and families wishing to use the new Link Light Rail Service through Bellevue."

Will accomplish ⭕️
They sent the National Guard to patrol NY city subway... how that turning out. The only traffic they are going to get is from Shoplifters and Tweekers now that they made it easier to get around!!!!!
You won't see the homeless and addiction until the Seattle connection is ready. So, the patrol officers right now won't find anything to worry about. What they need to do when it does come online is have officers watching and observing who is boarding those lines and escort them off before they make it to Bellevue.
Absolutely. Right now it’s just my fiancé and I traveling from Redmond to Wilburton Whole Foods 😂 to get ice cream. You’re right, scary times are ahead if order is not maintained.
I will say after taking the transit in some other cities, Sound Transit does a remarkably good job maintaining order onboard. I don't think I've ever seen a visibly unwell rider last more than two stops on the light rail or the bus before an officer shows up.
And may the good work continue! Maintaining order on the transit is key to convincing people from all walks of life to take the train
Welcome to the connected police state on behalf of the world cup. Barf.
wtf kind bizarro piece is this
I'm waiting for walawala to comment😂
When this eventually connects with Seattle, WATCH OUT!! Crime, homelessness, CRIME!! …..in L.A., a woman was just stabbed in the throat, and killed by a derelict black man!!!
Hotels in Bellevue are the ones to profit from people staying for the events. Why not ask them for help.
