I don't know. Cliff never played the slap technique, and was never much of a funk guy. If anything I think Les Claypool would be more proud lol he was the first guy to do the master of puppets slap segment at some of his early primus shows
@@smarkmalarkI think the person commenting meant that he would be proud to see someone not only clearly playing a song he was a part of, but playing it with the passion and energy Cliff will always be remembered for.
I don't know if this was intentional but props to the drummer for just playing the floor tom and snare instead of bashing the crash cymbal like the actual song. If he bashed the cymbals it would've over shadowed the bass
mate shows like this are rehearsed like months ahead. they probably even planned and practiced these since the first beef video. so yeah it's intentional 😂
Dude, you have to check out lightning bolt. It's just a drummer and bassist. The bassist has two banjo strings on his bass for more range, but still. Some of the highest energy music out there
Props to Davie for strapping the bass like this. I don't know why most rock/metal bassists have it hanging down to their knees. This position is much more comfortable.
@@hijdjf2961 "It's because no straps are long enough for his torso." A lot of straps are made long enough for taller people. Davie plays like this because it definitely is more efficient/comfortable. "That's as long as the strap can go". No. It's not. You can see the extra strap hanging from there....
This position is definitely not comfortable depending on your style. Obviously rock/metal bassists don't ever slap. For picking or really aggressive plucking (Steve Harris style) as needed to cut through the mix in a metal band the more confortable possition is for the palm to be resting above the strings or for your hand to be hovering over them. And to play like that for hours the most comfortable position is with stretched arms, otherwise keeping your arm up alone would fatigue you a lot, that's without even taking the fatigue of the picking or plucking itself into consideration.
Cliff Burton would be so proud if he saw this.
Agreed. Rest in peace, Cliff

Looking down happily from Bass Heaven
Maybe once they all get to heaven they’re going to have two basists
Insane slapping skills from Davie, but can we also talk about that drummer? Great show
the drummer carried the entire show for me. guy is insane.
The best friend of every bassist is the drummer.
Metallic should have this guy instead of Lars.

That's why drum & bass are bro's
@Muhammad Iftikar Maureza bassists are my favorite to jam with. They lock in with the drums so we'll

@Anh Duy Le valid, I just know sometimes drummers don't really listen lol. But yea that makes sence, the show seemed very well organized
Actually the drummer is using his crash cymbal the sound guy just has it mixed in so well that it's background and the focus is on the bass...
That sound is *MASSIVE* holy shit. The drummer is actually so good too, really wish I could've been there
yeah, I am disappointed

Cliff Burton sends his regards from heaven. He us so proud of you Davie.
Glad to see some METAL entered their show. Violins got blown away by this for sure!
They could have joined in on the fun with Michael Kamens violin Parts
I love the sight of davie playing metllica
holy shit he slapped the fuck outta that bass, lets go
it's really too bad all iconic bass music is under copyright
Can’t believe his live playing skills are so amazing!!!! The SLAPP is unreal!! Love TwosetViolin!! Props to DAVIE504!!!!!
tbh this is amazing, i have never seen concert footage of only a drummer and a bass player going crazy skilled like that
Jaco Pastorius did some insane bass and percussion jams in the 80s
Ian Paice and Roger Glover of Deep Purple sometimes play like that on concerts.
if you want just a drum and bass listen to royal blood
look up The Omnific

The man is so big that the bass looks like a standard guitar in his hands 😂😂😂
just right when you tought the drummer got lost, they nail right into the MASTER, MASTER part like actual masters lol
Davie makes it look so effortless.
Props to Davie for strapping the bass like this. I don't know why most rock/metal bassists have it hanging down to their knees. This position is much more comfortable.
he's so damn tall maybe that's easier lol xD
It's because no straps are long enough for his torso. That's as long as the strap can go. Have you seen how tall the guy is!

Cliff saw this from heaven and smiled😄
Thanks cringe me
I can only imagine the smile on Les Claypool's face
Technically speaking, slapping doesn't count as upstroke. Approved.
This is the best master of puppets bass cover in history

That moment when you can hear bass, but can't hear guitar 😂
Why would you hear guitar?
