This is really good info, thanks. Please do more on the subject of getting techno kick and bass to breath together with some other reference tracks too, so we can see more examples of how to incorporate all this knowledge. Really clear explanation to follow what you are doing as well as A/B with and without effects etc to be able to soak in what each is really doing. thanks and keep up the great work
A bit complicated. I think I get the idea though. Breaking up sounds into separate layers allows for complexity and experimentation, but also proper mixing. Very informative. Can’t wait to try some of this stuff 👍
Hello, thank you for this video ! I was wondering though, why don't I have as many targets in the modulation matrix ? For instance at 18:00 you have about 10 targets, but when I copy what you do I only have 5 (Amp, Pitch, Osc 1 Pos, Osc 1 warp, unison). Thank you :)
great video, id love to hear what you would do with the mastering here also explaining how you read all the values and stuff. amazing video so clear but in depth at the same time.
That's a nice tutorial! I often struggle with the middle layer in hard techno, getting stuck at whether I should put bass drone or trancy kinda bass or whatever else. Like watching your videos.
Thanks for the great feedback, I truly appreciate it! Yeah the middle bass layer is tough. I’m personally (for hard techno) more leaning toward rhythmic bass patterns because they don’t flood everything with low mids.
Amazing video man! Would love to see more of those sound design tricks you showed, such a good and gentle way you teach us! Thanks for this vid, maestro!
That's some nice stuff. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Any chance you can make a tutorial within the lines of Cleric, EAS, Balrog, MarAxe, Class Hermann or similar hard techno style? Something less melodic and ravey. It would be very much appreciated.
It's on my list to make all the stuff from the tutorials available, so thanks for the feedback and I hope you and everyone else can be patient a bit still :)
Hey man, thx for the guide! still got a question tho.. is there a reason you filter out frequenzies with a auto filter then doing it with an eq 8 for example?
I don't really get how heavily distorted sounds would create a problem on a club system? I mean, what about hardcore? Especially these new zaag kicks... whatever you think of that sound, it sure moves volumes of air. Nice channel though, lot of interesting content.
@@pickyourselfofficial i have a question: the kick must have bass like in this video or can i use only rumble (for example)? and how do I get space for synth if i have bass? i mean in the frequency spectrum
@@Andry87M Yes, you can totally supplement the kick with a rumble and use a less subby kick. Personally, I love strong kicks that have solid sub even without a rumble. But that's purely my taste. The second question isn't entirely clear to me. There still a ton of room for synths on top of a rumble (or even different bass sounds).
The video is super informative and I like your to the point teaching style, you've definitely given me some great pointers. Quick question, what type of headphones are you using?
I’d love to but I literally have no clue because I rename all samples immediately and store them in my dedicated folder structure. But I’m working on my first premium sample packs so stay tuned. Lots of goodness on the way ;)
i don't understand. Where am I supposed to find samples + the samples ur using are already mixed/ designed so whats the line between needing to do further mixing on a sample or not
The “simple way”? You’ve been tweaking a dozen different things for 20 minutes 😂 are there any principles or themes here? It seems you’re just showing us the process you used to make a loop but not really teaching general ideas or principles that can be used to make anything except this particular loop.
What an unnecessary comment. He made this video in October last year, and while it's a strain of techno that's certainly not to my taste, if a creator wants to put the effort into something for which there is an obvious demand, then it's certainly no skin off YOUR whiny little nose.

Yeah this is good STUFF!! Keep em' coming please!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

Great video man, I definitely learned a lot!!

Yes please do this
Will do! I’ll put it on the list :)
Noted :)
Nice idea. A lead sound video that’s not melodic, just industrial and weird 😃
You cannot emphasize enough, how important the punch is for the club.
fun fact: If you leave out the punch, you almost get typical techno kicks, for like darker, slower techno tracks.
Would you do the same for 'puristic' minimal techno like Troy, Stef Mendesis? Klockworks type like. Would love it!
Amazing tut! excited for the mastering
great tips!! many many thanks! It's posible share the Ableton Project of this video???
pretty cool video i hope for part2:D
Incredible video. Broken down so it's easily understood. Instant follow!
Awesome, so good to hear that you’re getting value from it! 🙌🏻💯
Any chance we could have the audio effect racks in the video? it would also be great to see this kind of video for hardgroove like funk assault etc
It's on my list to make all the stuff from the tutorials available, so thanks for the feedback and I hope you and everyone else can be patient a bit still :)

nice content bro .. thank you
Thank you ❤❤❤
Oh cool!! hard techno is not for everyone, of course, but still interesting. Thank you 😉
Glad you still got something out of it! :)
Is it possible to make a song as yours in ableton lite version?
I don't really get how heavily distorted sounds would create a problem on a club system? I mean, what about hardcore? Especially these new zaag kicks... whatever you think of that sound, it sure moves volumes of air.
Nice channel though, lot of interesting content.
Great tutorial, a video about a mastering chain would be very nice :)
Perfect, that's already on my list ;P
Бро, у тебя очень классные уроки, спасибо тебе!
I appreciate it 💯🙌🏻
Helped a lot thank u
Subbed!
Amazing teaching 🔥🔥 thanks 🙏
WOW 😮 100%🔥
Really awesome ! loving your videos, thanks so much for sharing and look forward to watching more vids and learning more!
great tutorial! a video how to mix everything would be amazing
Awesome! Yeah I’m thinking about breaking down a real client mixing session in the hard techno niche.

That’s awesome, thanks! These are Audeze LCD-X. Absolutely with the investment.
thx for the vid !
Nice one
Means a lot coming from you, man!
Awesome video! Very informative and well explained! 👍 Any chance you can share what sample pack were you using for hats and claps? Thanks
I’d love to but I literally have no clue because I rename all samples immediately and store them in my dedicated folder structure. But I’m working on my first premium sample packs so stay tuned. Lots of goodness on the way ;)
rude if i ask for the template to follow? thats a lot :D

Same
This (148 bpm) setup would also fit to hardtrance, if the synth would be more present and filling.

This sounds like EDM
Please translate into Spanish :c I would appreciate it.
good content
As soon as I have the bandwidth, this would be my favorite additional language! Saludos desde Berlin!
ROFL. is this what is called hard techno nowadays? Ngl, I was expecting something more like Dax J or Rikhter kind of techno
HAHAHA COME ON DUDE ! Trying to grab a little of this DYING techno hype and views hahaha . Too late.

Just started the video, and if I learn nothing else, I've learned how to pronounce Kobosil and Kangkluester (just need to learn how too spell it)
Thank you ❤❤❤
You’re welcome! 💯🙌🏻
