The sidechain is always there by default in each song. I’ve watched many tutorials where they delay the basses to add a different feel on top of the sidechain. It is common practice to delay the basses to make the basses less on time and feel more humanized.
What's funny is that we can't hear the sidechain ducking. So you are saying that he anticipates the sidechain by delaying the bass in the predrop, without sidechain ?

i agree with a lot of this. a lot of it is from metal tho witch i love. a lot of people knows these tenecks on how to make basses they just dont know how to make videos for it. and if they do they has no following to got it to a big group of people to learn. in a lot of the best brackdowns in matel are slower (take a song like BRIMSTONE HEART by METHWITCH where there is a tempo drom into the first brack down then tempo drop again to slower to make it even heavyer. i know this is unreasonable to do in the seen rn (ive been told off for bringing my track in 140 to 110 just this week XD) but its really the best way to have a heavy drop hit) so having a slower tempo is really good for making someting groove like this. also dragging on basses is really good for more of a way to exstend the entisapleon. i know akvma does a lot of stuff by hand and dont quontises it (look at her fallout remix, them basses be dragging halla hard) backgound mellodys in drops is someting hella over looked in songs and its just adds so much more then a atmosphere. For that push and pull - check out some tracks by Figure... one way to affect all the stems together without much hassle would be after original stems have been created. So basically remixing your song after you have completed it. I think Skrillex does this a lot too.

Yeah most dubstep will delay the basses and the sub so they are not perfect time with the kick and we do that on ableton with the delay on the sides. Like 7-20 ms is what I’m usually doing

Although D'LION isn't as famous, I think he is as ahead of the game as Marauda. And D'LION makes tearout AND deathstep. I don't understand why there seems to be two separate communities for deathstep and tearout.
I listen to him a lot! like him a lot too but his sounds design and songs are not as clean and well mixed as marauda. marauda has reached levels of heaviness and cleanness that still people can't comprehend, also keep in mind the person who originates the sound will also have a huge step forward, marauda cracked the code early. create your own sound and become something new is the goal!

pretty sure the delay in these predrop basses is the "sidechain" leftover for the drums, or delayed in purpose for the drums, just without drums
