Thank you for all the advice! It has helped me trust the mechanics of a trick and get outta my head. I am 37 and pretty consisted with a fs 180 nose press now. Working on the back side.
I really appreciate that kind of videos. It's fun to watch how you read those slopes (rolls, flatty areas, side' inclines/declines ) and make your combos smooth and fluent. Thanks boss
I've used this snow blower for the past 2 years in Wisconsin ruclips.net/user/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN and been quite pleased with my purchase. For the money this was a great deal, though you will have to buy a 15 amp rated extension cord which will probably add another $100. This snow blower was a back saver for me for the past 2years, while this isn't a 2 stage gas snow blower by any means, it performed admirably and was able to plow through 2 foot plus snow plow piles at the end of my driveway, through the 2 foot snow plow piles took quite a bit of effort and time. Still this was much easier than going at it with a shovel. My only gripe with it is with having to keep track of the cord and move it around as to not run it over, but that is part of the deal when you buy a corded electric snowblower.
So incredibly inspirational Ryan! Really love the point of view from someone else taking the video. I can see your movement and body position much better than when you are taking the video yourself. Thanks so much for sharing your passion! Keep yourself safe and Qapla'! 😃👍❤🏂 Randy
Cooper! Cooper! I recognized the lodge building and parking lot. Nice place, you can have entire runs to yourself on weekdays. This past weekend did not seem like President's Day weekend at all, very empty. I was zipping around on alpine board, and had plenty of room.
Love that footage showing you craving with the selfie stick, I used to point the selfie stick Downhill at all time, instead of pointing at the direction I'm going to, now I'm basically using the selfie stick as my guild line of my body position.
Mad huge backside tail rolls. That empty piste looks "Knapton" few dozen of us once in a while get those conditions affectionately know as "Knapton". A true magician of the craft. For me its how you end your manoevers and butters its just divine clinical lock. I go for one or two butters and my rotations link far too many more. Then i have to spin the other way to counter dizzy. School time mogels right now. Enjoyed the long shot footage. 🙏🏻🧡
That first ground 360 looked so effortless and epic! It's so good to see you carve like that, and it brings me joy to watch you, and try and carve like you :)
I like that you don't bend your rear knee towards front leg at extreme angle like some people do. It's unnecessary and puts stress on ACL and medial collateral ligament.
Спасибо Ryan! благодаря твоим видио я прогрессирую и сегодня увидев твои обычные проезды я понял что я хороший ученик я принимаю твой огонь и разжигаю его вокруг себя
Yo Ryan! I have a question. How to keep stable pressure in a feets trying to switch front side to back side in a deep carve trying to seat down in a "plus" position? It appearing i always pressing by the heel front leg and the toe of the rear leg. The deeper squat the bigger pressure difference between the foots that makes the board twisting and drifting... Do You know anything to fix it? )) Thanks!
When you guys do your toeside turns, do you tighten up your ankles and like push down your toes into the snow? Or do you rely on bending knees and the boot transfers the force to the board? Because I feel like I'm not trusting my boots enough but then my calves hurt like shit after some time
I just think about tilting the hell out of the board, finding the sensation of that edge locked in, expecting the feelings of the arched line that will occur, and making myself as comfortable as possible. Many techniques can work. Stiff boots and such can help with efficient leverage. 🏂✌️
@@mentosz5580 I'm not exactly sure on effective edge length on any of mine, we keep it a shorter nose and tail so proportionally it's longer than others. I have ridden a 150 in my model, and holding the lines of the carved turns was just fine, so for most people I recommend scaling down the length vs. what length they normally ride. 🏂✌️
@@RyanKnapton thank you for the reply! I was just curious since I’m recently learning to carve with a double forward stance (+30/+21) hence I’m taking lots of learning from Japanese/Korean riders (e.g. hirama, shim hoon). They almost all ride the same type of hammer-head board with super long effective edge, and the whole board’s length almost equal their human height. Hence my question earlier, wondering if effective edge matters that much or not - from your answer I take it the long edge is good, but not a must-have factor, skill is probably more important, right?
I’m so disappointed Donek shipped my Knapton Twin with FedEx. Delayed 2 days already and no updates 😢. Going to miss my plans to shred with the new board tonight, sadly.
I think it's because of the snow storm, and the holiday on Monday that everything is delayed. It's sad that your plans are ruined, but I hope you get to make it up!
@@metti_2t it’s because fedex is an incompetent company. This all happened prior to the snow system lol. As long as I get it by Friday I’ll be livin life
How do you get so good toeside carves, it feels impossible to me, I either keep the carve and get a much longer arch than I want, or I stick to what I aimed for and slide out.
bend your knees, get low on it, tilt that board harder and push backleg knee down into the board! And you will see that you can make turn tighter. Ofcourse snow conditions has to be good. If snow is too hard you will lose the edge traction and fall of the carve.
Film yourself and watch your body positioning. Sounds like you might be bending at the waist instead of keeping your center of gravity over your edge. Keep your knees bent, spine straight and shoulders straight.
Alright guys thanks, I am trying to picture what I might be doing, as opposed to what I feel like I am doing, because I must be doing something wrong, I don't think I am bending forwards towards my toes, because I actually used to do that, and I have hit a pile while in that position and learned the hard way. Maybe I don't move enough on my back leg like I see Ryan do in these videos, I dont get over my own back leg anyway the way he does, but then again most riders I see don't. I am doing well with everything but those toeside carves guys maybe I just don't get it.
Shot with a cell phone, so it is what it is. Take care, and happy shreddin' all!

Ryan, you ride so beautifully that i'd study you on a potato cam with scrarchy audio. Thank you for every day of inspiration.
Feeling like a very serene qaaaplaaaa, oh so nice!
It's a rare sight. Like watching that Bigfoot clip from the 1970's. A Knapton in it's native environment!
Freestyle free-carving!
What a beautiful blend of snowboard disciplines!
Thanks for posting.

I saw someone's alpine setup on the rack, but never saw who grabbed it while we were eating. Such nice snow there.

Smooth snowboarding vibes 🤌🤙
Carving goals!!!
I couldn’t even imagine having a dance floor that size and no interference. a bonus. There isn’t a groomer close to that here in the north east.
damn! you are always on the edge, always! even in and out of tricks, phenomenal!
Effortless, truly inspiring.
Damn, now i'm going to have to go out carving again this weekend. RIP my jacket sleeves 😢
😆
Loved it! Sounded like a lightsaber on the close up turns!
Excelent! And this Is better view than with selfie. Good job! 😀
Appreciate you, mang!
Actually really helpful to see it without music or slo-mo (not that I mind music or slo-mo, at all).
Awesome riding, Ryan! Always a delight seeing you shred like you know how to.
I wish we had snow like this in Michigan.
Knee's and toe's💪

One isometric contraction isn’t going to put excessive stress on two antagonistic ligaments, but I get what you’re saying.
I think he rides 15, 15 but he makes it look like it's 45-90, 0.

At what time do you shoot these videos? 7AM?
How do you find those empty slopes? It's so crowded when I go out. Where were you at? Btw. Great switch carving!
Smooth and wide cord... So jealous.

The style reminds me of Shun Di.
just curious - how many donek boards do you own/ride? and how often do you buy a new one?
I generally try new specs each year. Sometimes I've gone a couple seasons on the same board.
@@RyanKnapton how long is your current board’s effective edge? do you think it is a key factor in making good turns like yours?
