Hi Bren , its 3am I can't sleep so I have watched a few photo videos and this one really fulfilled the need. Beautiful American scenery, relaxing honky tonk music and a great demonstration of what a Fuji 6x9 can do with these film stocks. Amazing quality all round. I'll be back. Regards Jake E.
Hey man, I’m local to Butte County as well! I haven’t been up the canyon in a while. Thanks for inspiring me to go back up soon. Maybe after more snow.
I’ve shot a roll on Lomo Purple in 135, and loved it. Bought two rolls in 120 see how it looks in medium format (in 35 it was cool but super grainy). Now it looks like I need a few rolls of Lomo 800! Thanks for the great content!
Awesome video and effort, I realised that I have been seeing your shots on IG and elsewhere. Last fall I stocked up on other 120 films such as old price Portra, and I haven't used Lomo since a few years back. Nice old style Kodacolor that works well, the 800 is quite enticing but in EU it's a steep shipping cost their store has so I haven't tried that film yet. What's your scanning workflow? Mostly for CN100 what I see is that these films don't adjust to popular Kodak profiles and even got me weird very 80s brown results out of a couple labs, whereas other gave a great mild pallette.
Lomo 800 in particular is a must try! In the US happens to be significantly cheaper than Portra 800, although it also isn't always that widely available.
Wow! Brendan where on Earth are you based!? I'm so envious of the landscapes and nature that you are able to travel to. Was this a long drive to get to for you? You're convincing me to do more road trips to nearby nature and mountains for me
I am based out of Northern California, so fortunately this canyon is only about 30 minutes away from me. I usually don't stop to photograph the canyon when I'm driving through so I'm glad that I did this time.
Thanks for sharing your tests, I’ll definitely check out the 800. I’m about to shoot my first roll of 120 (lomo Metropolis) with a new back for my 4x5.
My brother in Christ, this video is exquisite. I appreciate all of the footage actually showing your process and the work of setting up a shot, unpacking the film, using the equipment - it really puts us in your world.
Thanks for sharing these results. Lomo 800 is definitely one that I will put through my Mamiya 7 soon! If you have time, always welcome to check out my photography channel als well 🙂
@@ExpiredBren I haven’t had good luck with 800 speed film. Maybe it’s because I shoot a lot in harsh light, my metering skills are shit or the type of cameras I use only top out at 1/500th or 1/400th max speed. So 400 just does for my workflow.
absolutely berserk that your channel isn't the biggest photo channel imo. your shots are consistently jaw-dropping my brother.
That’s kind of you to say Jack! I’m glad to hear that you’ve been liking my work
Loving your channel! Definitely going to give Lomo 800 a try after seeing those results
Lomo 800 is 100% worth trying!

Thank you for the comment, Jake! I appreciate it
Love shots Ben! I love shooting these film stocks, especially Lomo 800.
Lomo 800 is such a great film stock!

It may be closed due to rockslides from this last bout of storms, but it's always such an amazing drive!

Same to you my friend!
really awesome shots! marking Feather River Canyon on my maps immediately!
It is definitely worth while if you ever find yourself around Reno or north of Sacramento!

Thanks! I develop and scan at home. For my setup I use a mirrorless camera and convert with Negative Lab Pro
awesome video! love the side by side comparison
You know my video editing knowledge, so suffice to say it took a while for me to make😂
Lovely shots man. I've been wanting to give Lomo 400/800 a go for a while so nice to see some beautiful results.

@@ExpiredBren Yeah seems to be some good deals on it here in Ireland atm too. I will have to give it a try soon. ✌
great vid man! now I gotta give lomo 400 a try!
Especially for the price it is absolutely worth trying!
Great rundown on the lomos!
Thanks, Jeremy!
Lomo 800 is a great stock, I shot a bunch in my Pentacon Six rated at 640 and it looks fantastic

Nice! Will you be using a medium format panoramic back or a standard format back with the 4x5?

"...drop in for a beer, if you're ever driving through"
Such an American thing to say Bren 🙂
🍺+ 🚗= big no no
It's either that or have a beer and go for a summertime swim in the river!
@@ExpiredBren I was half kidding, thinking about how Americans are so relaxed about drinking and driving
Lomo 400 is the one
I was pleasantly surprised with how Lomo 400 turned out!
