This is one of my favorite films in the past 50 years. It's fantastic. No one has ever heard of it but I watch it every year and have wondered why it's such a sleeper. LOVE this film.
I am so with you, I've seen it , IDK, 15-20 times, get something out of it every time, LMAO EVERY time, appreciate Curtis Hanson, Rudin, Chabon, Clovis, & Toby who I'm usually not enthralled with, one of M.D.'s very best (along w/ The Game), all of the supporting actors, Downey is a scream; i could extol the virtues of this film for hours, apparently like a few others here & as evidenced by the very few likes, it's a sleeper aka a closet classic; no pun intended, IMNSHO
I watch parts of it every week. It’s amazing. The great American Movie for me.
Couldn’t agree more.
@@CWYMAN77 I have watched this film 50 times. It's a grand classic. Wonderful.
I also watch it every year. :)
This movie is an absolute masterpiece. One of my favorite films of all-time.
Someone needs to organize an effort to get Wonder Boys released on Bluray. It deserves a Criterion release!
finally on Nov. 24th!
@@ScottThrill THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME! 2020 is officially and completely redeemed!
I live in Pittsburgh and love this film...so much so that I've visited most of the filming locations several times. Most of them still exist today including Grady's home and his ex-wife's home located in Beaver county. I love taking fans of the film out there to see their reactions.
Savoir Rare I’ve wanted to see the spots
One of my favorite films. One of my favorite books. The film didn't do well, because it's quirky, it moves along nicely, but there are no major dramatic moments. No one chews the scenery. It's about heady things. There's no tragedy. It's funny, but there are no crotch shots or stupid jokes. It's smart. It makes no attempts to be big or wildly cinematic. It's largely plotless. It's about the characters, but the characters aren't necessarily moving towards anything hugely dramatic. The dialogue is sharp, but often subtle. In other words, it's my kind of movie!
Beautifully put. Exactly right.
I’m just wondering as I couldn’t quite figure it out at the end of the movie, does Terry (Robert downy junior) move to New York with James Leer and publish his book? Or does James go to New York by himself?
I love wonder boys. One of my favourite films. A blu ray is definitely needed
This is literally my favorite film of all time. Watched it in a theatre when it came out.
One of my all time favorite films. I've seen it over twenty times. I own it and when I need a place to feel at home I watch it. So wonderful. The writer of the book, Michael Chabon, is also one of my favorite authors penning great fiction, non-fiction and finally working on Star Trek Discovery which, after reading his memoir 'Manhood for Amateurs' is especially sweet for him. Thank you Michael Douglas - 'Professor Tripp'. I tell everyone to watch it.
I love this man
Such a classic favorite movie! the whole world they created was beautiful
1st question in the Wonder Boys Q&A is about Streets of San Francisco. 2nd question is about Kominksy Method. LoL come on, ppl.
Love Wonder Boys. My favorite film in recent years. Amazing.
This became one of my favourite films when I first saw it in 2000, and it still is to this day. I'm really happy Mr. Douglas considers it one of his best too, and I think it says something that when he receives a script, he doesn't read just his part, he reads the whole thing and decides if it's a good movie, not just a good part.
I had a university literary professor who resembled Michael Douglass’ character perfectly. Thank you Dr Ira Elliott
Fantastic program-thank you for making this excellent video!
It's a classic. I have no clue why people didn't see it. Ive watched it so many times. Always makes me happy
Great film. My favorite Chabon novel too!
Amazing movie, but still so underrated. It's a masterpiece really
Such a fabulous film.
It's too intelligent a movie for the regular viewing public.
It requires you to think.
There are no special effects, it's character-lead and asks you to question life.
Lost on most people.
This movie it's wonderful it's amazing it's my life, I am an atheist as well I speak 5 languages french Spanish English Portuguese criollo ❤
I just watched this movie recently & absolutely luved it! It must not have had a lot advertising for me to miss it cause I like Michael Douglas!
Wonderful movie. Something about it is so relaxing and calming. And when it's over, you want to spend more time with the characters, and sometimes end up watching it twice in a row.
Amazing to see the mind Mike has.
Karl Malden real Czec name
All the stuff he's done through the years remembers it like it's nothing at all.
Dates correct and more
It is a great movie, a must watch 👍🏻
Absolutely love this movie, just watched it again last night!
One of my favorite films. So good, unpredictable, smart, funny. Not your typical movie.
Zero thumbs down.
Until I saw Wonder Boys I never liked Michael Douglas as an actor very much, but after that, I realised he was a Wonder Actor, and really thought he deserved an Oscar.
This is a unique and a masterpiece of a movie.
I have a renewed appreciation for this talented man.
I remember all the leads, sans RDJ & the director on Charlie Rose.
Thank you for posting this
This and the movie 'Nine Lives' are the two movies someone has to like to 'connect' with me.
This movie firmly in my top ten
Omg he spoiled Endgame when talking about RDJ
This is my favourite film
It is so clever just brilliant
Love MD ..one of the Greatest
I forgot about Dylan cut, fantastic ! And Frances McDormand, the guy who played "Vernon", so many aspects; i also have this weird connection to Pittsburgh, though I've never been there, it's a long complex story. What a film !! I really appreciate you fellow aficionados !!!
One of my fav films. I luv all film about writing ✍️ or writers.
Such a great film. One of my favourites (alongside, Mike Leigh's 'Career Girls'). I never tire of watching it.
This is amazing and Douglas is fantastic, also in the Kominsky method- kinda similar role - love it
I love this movie. It's on my all time favorites number one!
Times have changed😍
Por favor coloquem legenda
The characters one who was given the fur coat allegedly once owned by MM and the other, her boyfriend, were annoying. They added nothing to the plot.
