It amazes me that one dude just started doing this in the 70s because it was easier to animate, but then everyone in the industry started using it for dramatic effect.
70s? damn, i thought naruto did it first😅
@@IHideSpeed oh yeah. Look up the history of Yutapon Cubes.
It's been used in various ways since the original implementation, mostly for destruction scenes, but I think it started becoming more widely used during the 2000s, when Gainax started becoming more noticed. They've been the most prolific users of the Yutapon Cube technique, as far back as I can recall.
There was also the use of the technique by Studio Bones in '03, and the entire world of Fullmetal Alchemist might as well have been made of Yutapon Cubes.
yutaka nakamura 🔥
❤❤❤❤❤❤
When you realizes that most of the cube effects are from yutaka nakamura
That’s why they’re called Yutapon cubes. They’re named after him lol
This is named after Nakamura but Nakamura didn't invent this cube but he is the one who popularized it
You can find this cube in Gulliver no uchuu ryokou, a 1965 anime
@@thewretched3715 Just discovered that it's key animated by the legendary director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Ponyo Howl's Moving Castle, Totoro, Laputa) surprised me
no shit sherlock
That’s basically his call sign.
You know shits goona be crazy when the enviroment turns geometric
When you have an epic anime fight in Minecraft.
If I ever saw cubes I knew it would be a good fight
yk i think i like this being unique to anime as a genre
You know once you see the yutapon cubes there’s gonna be clean animation
3:17 - 3:20 aren't yutapon cubes. I made a mistake while editing. Please excuse this 😅. Also, thanks for 1k views!

If u take time to study it’s simple to animate it’s just your perspective on how you would animate it 👍
