    風車が建つような強風が吹くとこじゃないとああいう髪の動きにはならないんだけど、それくらい速かったり爆風が発生してるって表現してるのがいいよね
    動き自体は速くなかったり止まってても、髪が無造作に動きまくることで爆速に感じる
    すごい表現方法だと思う

    In my opinion, I actually prefer his older style than recent ones. His older works emphasized fluidity and dynamic on subject's movement with spicy effects. Furthermore, they doesn't seem exaggerated. e.g Kekkai Sensen, Darker Than Black, Space Dandy. In comparison, the recent like My Hero Academia movies have spams of lights and flashes. The pallette looks odd as well like when Deku consecutive punches Overhaul.

    • @makkusaltuu
      @makkusaltuu  2 года назад +62

      very valid opinion! his older works were definitely more grounded and less flashy (some are still quite flashy) compared to his recent works like in MHA though i'd say that's more of a product of the series/project and the specific scenes he is working on. they're all still equally very impressive but yeah i agree, his newer works are definitely more exaggerated than before.

    • @ottersaurus
      @ottersaurus 2 года назад +25

      I feel like his style has always been emphasize fluidity through effects and still is. His characters in these shots barely move and is always covered in vfx. Hence the super thick and straight motion lines that linger for just a bit longer than you’ll expect. The new mha stuff is really just the same principle. Like the lighting emulating from Deku would usually move super quickly across the screen but he lets them linger on screen. Same with the flashes, uses just a bit more impact frames so you notice them more. To me his older stuff seems to have less of an identity.

    • @spoony8497
      @spoony8497 2 года назад +4

      I feel like he evolved in a way where the fluidity of the subject is still prevalent, but with a heavier focus on effects. Although as he continues with my hero, he experiments more with wilder and more opinionated effects work. especially in the 3rd movie (and some cuts from season 5) where the bodies of the characters become less fluid as the effects take center stage with more bizarre aftereffects flares. And, to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of his 3rd movie cut, really only the ida vs mudman fight (which still has some questionable direction choices). plus the color pallete of the deku vs overhaul fight for his punches reflects melting metal and how it interacts with light (hence the purple).

    • @e-madart9420
      @e-madart9420 2 года назад +11

      Haven't you seen his raw key animation drawings? he just draws the characters and the near backgrounds surrounding the characters, that's his job, everything from the coloring shading, and effects are on the rest of the studio, so most likely the whole effects thing and flashiness is from the director's choice.

    • @spoony8497
      @spoony8497 2 года назад +5

      @@e-madart9420 No he directs all his own cuts. pretty sure he at least directs the coloring as well, since its generally very different from other animators. There was even an interview where the actual director said nakamura's final product always deviates heavily from the storyboard. and all effects in a scene or cut are almost always done by the animator. only time they arent is when its a one off scene where they use stock effects (lower budget studios) or ufotable, where most of their effects are done by the CGI team.
