She does not need to practice her reception skills. She is probably the best passer in us team. With maybe Robinson.

Every player of US can play in everywhere. That's fantastic. No team has this chance. US has so many great player in all position; libero, setter, attack or defense. How they could not win the olympic gold medal. This summer should be for US. I hope they can get gold medal in Tokyo.

If anyone is wondering why Hill is a libero, coach Kiraly designated Wong as the main libero but he shuffles the second libero among the outside hitters except for Larson. (Courtney played thrice but you don't see her much anymore)

Unbeatable because other countries don't use their A team. Hopefully, they could win against China, Italy and Serbia in Olympics. Because even with the best Logan Tom before, they only won Silver. They don't even beat Russia like how Japan did it in straight sets.
@@hahalol2213 italy is all about egonu and for serbia boskovic was not in her form in Eczacıbaşı and miha don't play good as before. Volleyball is a team play and usa use this advantage very well. i dont think china will defeat them for a reason

This strategy is really good for Kim to improve her defense and if team USA can produce more all around players in addition to Larson and Robinson its a great advantage.

Russia could've won most, if not all of their matches (despite their poor receive) if they only have good management in crucial parts of the game. weird substitutions and challenges that lose them a point.

This I agree. Hill as a libero was a nice surprise. She did fine and it is also a preparation for defensive skills come the Olympics. Justine Wong- Orantes was probably benched for this match in preparation VS China. A must win for the US.

Baaically, it's a strategy to improve their open hitters from receiving and digging since they are inside the court for most times. They even used Bartsche-Hackley as a libero in a game before.

Excellent match. Very impressed on Russia's play. You can see they wanted it very much. But the US is going to be very difficult to beat in the VNL and Olympics.
May we all take a moment to once again admire Jordyn Poulter's play? Top notch sets and solid defense to go with it.

The US is reinventing the wheel by making the 6'4" Kim Hill as libero. I wouldn't be surprised if they make Karch Kiraly the next libero playing with his glasses on.
Russia just can't keep a consistent defensive plays. As always, Team USA is on 🔥
That's a huge transition for HILL for being an open spiker for years and now she became a Libero.. awesome 👍🏽👍🏽

Poor coaching and game management for team Russia. Subbing-out Goncharova in crucial part of 3rd set made them lost that set and eventually the match.
Goncharova is really bad, she can be a légend, but dont attack, dont receive, dont jump to block, nothing

I have a word to say with the coach of Russia... Everytime he calls a timeout (usually when Russia is taking the set lead, weird enough) and back, Russia would lose several points - needless to mention how he switched the players only to lose more. I wonder what he's thinking. By the way US played a great game, congrats!
I feel like he gave up on the 4th set cuz he knew team Russia just lost their chance to move to the final 4 (cuz Russia needed to win with 3:1 or 3:0 to help them to stay in the game).

@@ziwei1477 They have been facing each other for many years, wining or losing a match won't change anything. Russia had a huge advantage today since USA just randomly selected a libero and didn't change any players at all, while team Russia keeps changing players but didn't work well.
Accdg to the commentator Russia needs to win the game in 4 sets to get a slot in the semis, even if they win it in 5 they are basically out of tournament so the team is like what's the point of even extending it to 5, remember he did this subs in their loss to the Netherlands

the problem of russia teams is that they dont have Kseniia Parubets. is the best russian outside spiker and if she played thing will be better

Russia always depended on a super tall power spiker. And in this game by keeping Goncharova on the bench, the set in hand went to the U.S. This counts to the coach and should Russia wish an Olympic medal, he has to be replaced very soon.

From my mind, I think if the performance of the Russian team is as good as the 2019 World Cup. and not easily lose the set to other teams Unless there are Parubets on the team. Russia's play will be much better and will probably beat the Netherlands and Japan. I really want Russia to go to the quarterfinals. But the performance of the American team is very good. As usual Busato squandered the team's hard fought lead with an unnecessary subs which destroyed thier chance of winning the 3rd set, really bad coaching decisions which will haunt the team, unless they change coaches expect more losses like these against top and even mid seeded team's.

По сути дела, матч с паночками уже ничего не решает. Однако, стоит отметить что потенциал у команды есть. Просто стоит кому-то поработать над подачей, кому-то над приёмом, кому-то над блоком, а кому-то просто психологически...

And they must also replaced Fetisova and Brovkina. They are not effective MBs. Zaytseva, Evdokimova and Efimova are much better MBs. Galkina as their libero must also be considered.

@@wilhelmusruperno1296 exactly. I don't even know who is Zaytseva the libero when I first saw her during the earlier matches of Russia. I only knew Valeriia Zaytseva the MB. They better let Galkina join the Olympics or else no quarterfinals for them at all.
