I share with this wonderful singer, former Flyleaf vocalist, her fight against fucking injustice. Against everyone who with inexorable logic enjoys while he causes our suffering. But when she immerses herself in the acoustic roll surrounded by co-religionists, she is something else. I respect that people need to practice self-hypnosis to continue believing in what prevents them from sinking into depressive fatalism. But I don't respect that they try to impart that placebo to others, because then what could be a personal tool to continue functioning in this bastard world becomes an act of proselytism. That being said, I adore Lacey Sturm. A person capable of turning everything she sings into feeling. Her emotional involvement is amazing. And I love her ability to communicate her love. Too bad that to save her own story she has to idealize a Supreme Being who is not as kind as she imagines. But I respect her personal belief, as long as it is just hers and she doesn't need to convince others.

Josh and Lacey, I want to share a story with you about this song. I had a family member who tragically passed this last weekend. When they were not doing so with us they would often talk and argue out loud to people that were not there. Playing worship music on the TV would end those conversations and calm her. There was one time where "The Return" drew her attention to where she was around the corner leaning against the wall, watching and listening intently. I'm deeply saddened by my family members passing and grateful for your faithful love for each other and our Father in Heaven. It was evident to my family member. Josh your guitar heart string play and Lacey your heart's cry make the world a better place. And I believe helped usher my family member into a better place. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm for real crying. I stumbled upon this song because I was posting on my story on Instagram showing what torment God saved me from and couldn't find a song that fit it, then I found this song so came here to listen to it and now I'm crying my eyes out so hard right now. God is so good beyond all measures. Whenever lacey sings a song about her life and what God rescued her from I relate so much. I fell away when I was a teen due to severe abuse and feeling like God didn't care about me because he didn't let me die in my sleep so I won't have to face another day of abuse. I hit rock bottom trying to take control of my life but I found there is literally no control without God in it. God found me when I was in an abusive relationship that almost took my life so many times. I gave my life back to Christ hiding in my shower from my at the time boyfriend. That was the first time in my entire life I felt loved. Not because they pitied me or felt obligated, but because I'm so imperfectly me. We don't realized how much he loves us. He loves us so much he found us worth dying for. I can't even express how greatful God rescued me when I returned to him.
