Thanks for all your help James! I fondly remember studying for that audition, and you were a big part of my daily practice routine. I'm glad we're still connected.
A Queen fan since 1974 - loved the unpacking and what a beautiful looking guitar. Loved it that much i've ordered one even though i can't play a guitar, i thought it would make an excellent addition to my Queen collection. I may just have to learn how to play it now !!
Great video. Just to let you know, when you flip the phase switches back up, you're keeping them in phase. Only when you have one up and one down, it becomes 'out of phase' :)
Thank you for the correction. I'm actually going to make a dedicated video to just the phase switches, as I realized I said some incorrect things in this video. The next video on that will have more accuracy. Thanks for pointing that out.
I bought one of these about a year ago and I'm exceedingly happy having it in my guitar collection (or harem, as my wife says). It's a *great* electric guitar whether you like Queen and Brian May or not ("not"???? yeah, sacrilege, I know). Also, the cat is hilarious.
I just bought a mint used one in white. I love the look of it with a multi ply scratch plate as well as the feel and it has to be said the bag is about the best I’ve come across.
It’s January 2024 as I respond to your comment with my own, Dave. I’m considering doing the same thing, getting a preowned White Special. Originally, I thought I would get a black one, but a white one that materialized on Reverb last year is really tempting me. If I take that plunge, the first thing I record with it isn’t going to be Queen covers. I’ll likely play my original music with it.
Excellent unboxing, loved it. I also received my brian may guitar last week. It’s an amazing instrument from which you can get many sounds out of. I’m new to your channel so I’ll be checking your other videos out too , especially anything to do with Queen or Brian May guitar lessons. Rock on and keep em coming🤘
Wow! Enjoy your primary red special. There's a whole host of outer phase selections. What you can have? Enjoy! Have fun. That's what it's all about. God bless. I must check out more of your videos
05:56 ....An important question... i have an used "BMG red special" but the arms bar (tremolo bar) It won't fix in the hole of bridge (Wilkinson) maybe it is broken? The bar it remain unfixed and it can fall down to the ground
It has been a long and I mean a LONG time since I have even seen a Carvin Amp. Brings back memories from back in the day. Glad to see that one side of old Carvin (Kiesel) is still doing well today.
Brian May put all the pickups down accept the left up (the most left and up pickup), and he's also play with a coin, and that's what's really given the tone
Working with kids prepared you for lifting the lid off the box without disturbing her, didn’t it, Lindy? The first thing that comes to mind when you mention how many times Brian’s original was scanned to build this one and its fellows is the following: could (and will) BMG manufacture a kit version? That would be outstanding for some customers who want this model and are desirous to cost cut - or maybe have it customized. (It could also be a mod marathon model.)
Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful guitar. But in addition, this woman is intelligent, personable and even more beautiful than the guitar. Very nice review.
I dont know if this besutifull guitar is can used for touching songs like slipknot or nirvana, I know that is for rock but I need to know if I can do metal whit this perfect guitar because I want it
Hi Lindy...I always thought that was a cool guitar...3 single coils with switches for each pickup so that a person playing it can have the choice of any combination of pickups they want, with phase switching so that when a person playing it can apply in or out of phase when playing pickup combinations...way cool...and then the whole 24 fret thing with a glued in neck as opposed to a bolt on...super sturdy construction...locking tuners...and on the special it has a Wilkinson, which Carvin guitars used for a long time...I had a Carvin DC400 and that was one of many guitars that I wished I never parted with...paused at 10 seconds in to comment...they have one in stock at a Guitar Center close to me...I haven't checked it out yet, but probably will...anyway, thanks for the video, and hope you and yours are well! Oh, one more thing: I see you have a Carvin Legacy (Steve Vai amp) back there...I have played through one of those in a combo back in the day in California at the Carvin factory back when they were still making guitars...very unique amp, and sounded absolutely great!
Cool video, I wonder why I missed your channel, although I watch a lot of red special stuff. Just one thing: you cannot set both out of phase, because then they would be in phase with each other. Out of phase is when 2 pick ups are not both up or down. So one up, the other down.
How tall are you? I need some reference since I'm going to gift this guitar to someone who is not very tall and I have no way of seeing one of this guitars in person. Thanks
I don’t get why the scratch plate design is quite a lot different to Brian May’s red special. The copy has much fatter horns at the top than the red special . Why couldn’t they get that right?
I was flabergasted to learn that the BMG Red Special is £150 cheaper to worldwide customers than UK customers! WTF!, I would love to know their reasoning for this?
You see musicians should not worry about the guitar you play because brian mays is made of a fire place, buttons and a knitting needle not to mention the 3 £ pickups and we worry about our own ?
Wish i could own ine of these guitars. Its my dream. Reality poor as hell on wellfair and never going to happen. Digitech brian may red special signiture pedal have to do with that
"200 scans . . .", but the tail-piece is . . . eh . . . IYKYK . . . No thanks. I'd much rather spend the extra cash, and go through a company like RS Guitars, and get an AUTHENTIC recreation.
Tutorials?...I think you need a bit more practice yourself there, sport. At the very least, get the solo from Bo Rap down to a T next time you demonstrate anything with this guitar.
Thanks for the shout out Lindy 😊😊 I still remember when you got The Killer Queens spot
Thanks for all your help James! I fondly remember studying for that audition, and you were a big part of my daily practice routine. I'm glad we're still connected.
Hey man , i love your videos as i love all things Brian May. Rock on 🤘
Brian May is a legend!
A Queen fan since 1974 - loved the unpacking and what a beautiful looking guitar. Loved it that much i've ordered one even though i can't play a guitar, i thought it would make an excellent addition to my Queen collection. I may just have to learn how to play it now !!
You have a Queen collection?! Oooo I'd love to know more about what's in that collection
Dude learn to play the guitar. I can’t think of a better guitar to begin that journey on. Rock on 🤘
Well done. Your cat is classic👍👍👍 Loved unboxing my BM guitar last year. Great guitar and strap is fantastic.
She helped me film, edit, and post this video. Honestly, she's the boss here, I just work as an employee.
This is by far the most entertaining un-boxing video on RUclips!!!
Thank you for sending the guitar! Also, the cat def helps make it entertaining :)
Great video. Just to let you know, when you flip the phase switches back up, you're keeping them in phase. Only when you have one up and one down, it becomes 'out of phase' :)

Not correct. It's two switches per pickup. One is the phase switch, the other is an on/off switch.
I bought one of these about a year ago and I'm exceedingly happy having it in my guitar collection (or harem, as my wife says). It's a *great* electric guitar whether you like Queen and Brian May or not ("not"???? yeah, sacrilege, I know). Also, the cat is hilarious.
Just put the order today for my BMG Special. Looking forward to getting her soon!

I loved this video and it gives you like a perfect introduction to the Red Special!!! One of my dream guitars! Tysm!
Btw ik im so late lol 🤪
Excellent unboxing, loved it. I also received my brian may guitar last week. It’s an amazing instrument from which you can get many sounds out of. Congrats on your guitar. I hope you're enjoy it a lot!

Love all your content it’s informative, entertaining and fun
Interesting the custom strap has pick pockets when Brian plays with coins, shillings.
I ordered mine yesterday! Great video by the cat too
CONGRATULATIONS! Did it arrive yet??
WHOA!! I also run a Red Special through a Legacy 3!!
2yrs late
I absolutely love this guitar!!!
So how do you-Pete like it 2 yrs later??
Thanks for posting
I'm wiring a Strat pickguard with Brian's system.
Sliding into your account like HEY GIRL. (I'll be there this Saturday)
My boys
In Brian's Star Licks video, he said that 85% of the time, he uses the bridge and middle pick-ups in phase.
HOW AWESOME!!
THANK YOU!
WOW!! I’M EXCITED FOR YOU (and Pete). 🤣🤣
OH GIRL, I AM TOO!!!
Cool video, I literally have the left-handed version of this coming later today!
please play various rock licks and riffs with this guitar. Don't let anyone tell you these aren't one of the most versatile guitars on the planet.
I got mine 3weeks ago. Thank you for the trem lesson😊👍🏿
Ayo! Congrats! Enjoy this guitar, it's seriously amazing.
Brian May put all the pickups down accept the left up (the most left and up pickup), and he's also play with a coin, and that's what's really given the tone
Pete got the guitar, but your cat kept the box ?
Thanks for the unboxing, that was fun.
Очень позитивная гитаристка, чувствую положительную энергию, посмотрел с удовольствием, почти всё понятно даже без перевода. ЛАЙК
Working with kids prepared you for lifting the lid off the box without disturbing her, didn’t it, Lindy?

Where are the tutorials with this guitar, I've looked but can't find any 🤔
These cat ist a big Queen Fan....😻🎸
pretty amazing someday its mine
Cats and boxes. What is the attraction? I have five cats and all of them have a box obsession. Also, mandolin cases.
Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful guitar.
But in addition, this woman is intelligent, personable and even more beautiful than the guitar.
Very nice review.
I had the black and gold model back in 2010 brand new bought, few years later i sold it, still regret that dumb move
I dont know if this besutifull guitar is can used for touching songs like slipknot or nirvana, I know that is for rock but I need to know if I can do metal whit this perfect guitar because I want it
“Was”? You know Brian May is still alive right?
Where did you buy it?

Where can I find this guitar??
Love your cat!
O braço da Red Special é bem largo, tem que ter os dedos compridos pra tocar.
How tall are you? I need some reference since I'm going to gift this guitar to someone who is not very tall and I have no way of seeing one of this guitars in person. Thanks
I always find they look smaller in real life. I'm 1,67 and it's just perfect.
Wow! Nice cat!
Where I could by myself?
how money this guitarr ???
Brilliant! What a cat, what a 'cat thing' to do!
Now you must have known the cat will want to be there if a box is involved 😆
Your so awesome 👍🏻
I don’t get why the scratch plate design is quite a lot different to Brian May’s red special. The copy has much fatter horns at the top than the red special . Why couldn’t they get that right?
It's not supposed to be an accurate copy. Brian May Guitars has another model for that (the Super).
Too big for my picks. I use Jazz III XLs LOL.
Brian May Was??, Brian May is.
👍
😂love your cat
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Less than 24 hours left!
Cats have great licks.
Did you just say "purrfect pairing"? :)
puuuuurfect.
@@LessonsWithLindy That's the spirit! :)
I was flabergasted to learn that the BMG Red Special is £150 cheaper to worldwide customers than UK customers! WTF!, I would love to know their reasoning for this?
When you order one from outside the UK, you will have to pay taxes and customs, so you will end up paying at least the same amount. 😉
Guitar is not beautiful
You are beautiful 😊🥰
Ethereum 🎸
she spent real money on this btw

Rundle... hahahaha.

No thanks. I'd much rather spend the extra cash, and go through a company like RS Guitars, and get an AUTHENTIC recreation.
Why are you talking about Brian May in the past tense? 🙄 Same goes for his guitar.
It's a fat bottom girl alright, but it's a nice light guitar
