Hi Jess, catching up on your vlogs (delighted relatively new subscriber) and I have to say how much I love your and Matt's gorgeous flat. Absolutely love it, take care xxxx
4:16 13.5*c? Bit chilly! I thought I was frugal keeping my thermostat to 15degrees and wearing jumpers/using blankets around the house. Our boiler man told us not to let the indoor temp drop below 15* generally as if it’s prolonged, that’s when you start to see structural issues like pipes getting damaged and damp and mould etc. but I digress! Cost of living makes it harder and harder to keep the heating on for lots of people. My rent is 1.7k for a 3 bed house in similar area but we’ve been here since 2007 with a fantastic landlord who treats us like family, and behaves more like a grandad to our two boys, hence I can afford to have my heating a little higher. He’s never put the rent up in all that time. When we moved in, with just our eldest as a baby, he told us ‘if you look after the house, we’ll look after you’ and he’s been true to his word. All of which I’m immensely great full for.
Yes! Our house is very old and has a few issues with damp we do keep the heating on most of the time to be honest but it’s just such a summer sort of flat when we can have the patio doors open and let the air in! Wow that’s a really good deal for a 3 bed and I bet having a great landlord like that gives such a sense of ease around it all! Hope you are enjoying the long weekend ❤️
Aw I would love to, unfortunately we can put anything with nails in the walls! And I was a little scared to use common strips above the bed where it might fall on us 😅
