  • This concrete skeleton is the remnants of the Shelby Chemical Plant that supported the Shelby Iron Company during WWI. The building ceased operations with the iron company almost a century ago in 1923, unable to survive the economic difficulties of the time post-war. It's extremely hazardous to explore on foot with gaping holes in the ground, broken and rusted metals, and even nesting red-tailed hawks. The building is maintained by the Shelby County Historical Society and is located in (guess) Shelby, AL.
