- This is the following video of the Home made Random Wire Antenna with 9:1 UnUn. I did make a few modifications on it.

Thank you very much for watching my videos! 73 Paul OM0ET Наука
That looks like a very neat unit. I'm going to watch the next video to see how it worked out.
Nice job!
thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! ;-)
Paul , Great Video...great Info..73's WL7NP
Nice picture!
Paul, Nice job. 73's CE7MDB
Nice work as allways Paul - still need time to test the mag loop - but will do for sure
Thank you! Actually very poor propagations for QRP 🤔 i hope for QSO with you in the future. 😉👍 73
i was hoping to actually see the rest of the project!
I thought "20m" was an end fed half wave rather than a "random" wire. Nice setup.
Saw the previous video as well. With 20 mtrs of wire, it seems to me you've made a EFHW (End Fed Half Wave) antenna instead of a 'longwire' . Then the 1:4 or 1:5 UnUn, you have constructed in part 1, will work just fine. 73 de PD0PSX.
Great video. I am keen to get onto the HF bands at minimum cost and was very interested in your antenna. I have no garden and wish to build an antenna to fit into my yard. Will this work at half the length for say the 20m and 10m bands?
I would be worried that your antenna wire will break at the ring connector due to the strain of also supporting the box and ground rod connection. Better to add a strain relief there I think - it's what I do on mine at least :)
Looks nice. What sort of power handling do you anticipate that it can handle ?
Thanks. Hmm 🤔 i tryed it with my QRP rig and 5W. I don't know what max power it can handle at this moment. Depends on used core i suppose 10 or 20W. My opinion only. 😁
I want to build a similar antenna for DXing the AM broadcast band, 500 KHz-1600 KHz, any idea how I can determine the impedance of a 'long wire' (relative term on a 300 m band) antenna? I may need a 1:10 windings ratio on a 75 foot radiator.
Paul, enjoying your info , antenna appears to be working FB ! Does your Radio have a built in tuner ,i wonder if your good readings are being tuned by the internal matching ? Tks, 73,72 , Jerry K9UT
Hi Jerry. Yes it has the internal automatic tuner, but during this test it was turned off. 73 Paul 😉
Congratulations for the video!!! Neat and clean as usual. Very nice small box. And the clear lid a nice plus! With your call sign. Please when you test it can show the SWR response without the antenna tuner enabled? That way a real idea of the antenna will be displayed. Thanks for your excellence in videos!!! 73 de kk4nww
Thank you Eduardo! I will test it probably this weekend. I will try to made another video. I test SWR response only with disabled ATU. The SWR graphs in the previous video was by ATU disabled too. 😁👍
Does antenna need tuner? BTW another great vid with tones of info.
Yes
@@OM0ET Thanks for quick reply😉
Modified is the correct word, modificated does not exist, I like your video anyway
Thank you. Your antennas are so intricate and compact. Much admiration here for your skillful assembly. MikeinMinnesota N0WDM
Thank you Mike! 😊 have a nice day and 73 🙋♂️ Paul
😌👍
Under what circumstances would you need the Long ground wire ? If you do need it do you still ground it to Earth Ground with the alligator clip? It seems that by using the ground side you are making a Dipole antenna.. Right ?? 73's N5ZXZ
This kind of antenna needs a proper ground to have a better efficiency. But I work QSOs also without ground :)
Is the radiator wire solid or multistranded?
its multistranded

Question? Where can we source the case ?🤔

Surely that yellow and white toroid is a very low frequency lossy dust-iron core, NOT a ferrite? Most well-respected ham websites recommend a much more efficient type 43 REAL ferrite for the 20-40-80 bands.
Sounds good advice, I was going to use a toroid from a switch mode power supply. I had my doubts about it, but I won't use that now. Where do I get a Type 43 ferrite, please? Found it. Amidon.
@@gortnewton4765 If you plan on going to 80mtrs you should use a type 31 ferrite. Type 43 is good for 40mtr and up. Karl
@@karlfell3768 Good, thank you Karl.
