I watched your videos to learn how to mix on CDJ800s 14 years ago and I'm blown away that you came up when I searched for help over a decade later. I recognised your voice instantly. Keep doing your thing, legend!

Thank you so much for this. I played my first live gig the other night and was so confused why my loops were not setting on time. My set kind of went off the rails because I didn't know what was going on.

Nice explanation of the Quantize button. I've looked into this a couple of times but the demonstration you did was top notch!

Congratulations on the video, great explanation of the Quantize function.
With my XDJ-RX2 (in Standalone mode without Rekordbox) I followed the instructions of your video and everything is fine but I have a problem:
I play the track in Deck 1 at 125bpm with the Quantize active at 1 beat. If I start the track of Deck 2 with the Hot Cue always at 125bpm and with the Quantize active, the bars of the 2 tracks are not aligned if I do not start the Hot Cue perfectly.
Is all this normal? if, on the other hand, the Sync is active then it works, but with the Sync deactivated it does not.
What do you advise me to do?
    Thanks, a greeting
    M.

Talk to me about the (quantize beat value) (deck) in the utility menu please buddy ? 1 beat - 1/2 beat -1-4 beat ect ? And maybe all the options like hot cue Colour ? Mixer mode ? Master attenuator? Auto cue level ? Sorry for the simple questions lol I’m Jjst learning , thanks for the help on all ya vids and respect to al you DJ’s producers out there 👊🏻👊🏻 inspirations .

So am I right in thinking that the only difference between sync and quantise is that quantise is for creating loops in time and sync is for beatmatching live tunes?

    Thanks for this video.
I’m having trouble doing quantised loops with my new XDJ-XZ (using Serato) very similar to this video. I will probably have to return the controller as nobody seems to have a solution. I can only assume as with this controller, quantise only works with Rekordbox analysed tracks ?? When I plug in my old DDJ-SX the loops are quantised perfectly and I can four deck mix. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Is it just me or is Quantize on newer gear (eg the cdjs 2000 nexus 2) much accurate than quantize on older gear eg cdj 850)? What do you think?

Well if a had a pioneer controller I could apply certain techniques learned from your videos to use easier. I use the. Numark NVII and I do enjoy it. But perhaps you wouldn’t mind in the future having a apprentice would you?

Can you explain me why that metallic sound happens when you syncronize the same songs, because is very similar when you set the time parameter of the echo in 1 m/s

Quick question. I’m playing on 2 cdjs tomorrow but I am not a 100% sure if I need 1 or 2 usbs since there are 2 players

    • @FunkyMonkeyMachine
      @FunkyMonkeyMachine 5 лет назад

If you're playing on two separate CDJ's then yes you will most likely need 2 USB's. However if you're playing on a DJ controller like in the video, then you usually need just 1 USB.

If the cdjs have a link feature button then only one USB stick, both decks can read the USB, but in any case having a second backup stick is a good idea..
