This dish has a very similar story to the brazilian 'feijoada', a dish that has a lot of different parts of the cow/pig that weren't much desirable at the time, all the different types of meat is thrown in a pot with black beans and cooked until soft, it's a very heavy meal and was very important to the history of the slaves in Brazil at the time. Now it's one of the most popular dishes and carry on culture and history.

In indonesia we also eat oxtail, it's damn good. We usual make oxtail soup and eat it with white rice. Maybe you can try making one one day gully, highly recommend
oxtail is one of those Black Caribbean dishes that brings folks to the table! it's eaten in other parts of the world too so it makes it special. wish the high-end restaurant people didn't find it and make it so expensive.
Can I ask if chicken fried steak is made in Jamaican/ Caribbean cultures? I had a nursery school teacher who made it for us, and I remember thinking it was the best thing I’d ever had!
I Love Ox Tail, especially with a Nice Broth or soup, one of the Best meat or part of the Cow to eat, but it so Expensive & people make sold out when I or my family get It!

What a coincidence! I cane from a buffet just 15 minutes ago and I ate and really enjoyed the braised oxtail there! I was quite honestly surprised to see that people eat oxtails as well. It was tender, spicy, a little bit gelatinous. It's a food you HAVE to try at least once in your lifetime.
