The fact that there's still a lot of people that think that his training was as simple as a regular workout but in reality it was him coming over exhaustion day after day from his workouts and fighting and saving people, being pushed to near death so many times that he broke his limiter, saitama is truly worthy to be called a true hardworker

Beauty of Saitama's gainings is that he overcame himself, his own limits. It's interesting that when he actually revealed his trainings nobody believed him, because it is not a volume of training too hard for them. Howewer, for him it was, and he did overcome it. In some way this teaches us to not look at other's achievements, but to ours, and be proud of ourselves for overcoming our limiters. Truly beatiful character.

@@adawehibrahim7798 Trust me he is right about consistency I've been doing push ups everyday for over 4 years and its crazy the benefits of just spending a few minutes a day excercising. I started at around 21 pushups and quickly within a few months got up to 40 then got stuck at this number for a few years until now where I can do 65 without stopping (I pause for breaths though at the top of the pushups at higher numbers).
Additionally from just this small amount of effort my arms have good detail and its good for me mentally to complete something hard everyday and its actually become quite fun to do. I'll admit I am not as consistent as I used to be as I have become worse at motivating myself over the years but along as you keep semi consistent you wont lose much progress.
Tips to help you improve faster: firstly making sure you watch a few videos and learn good form before you start. Secondly making sure to do full range of motion eg stomach practically touches the ground as although its harder and you'll get a smaller total number its better in the long run. Thirdly with your palms flat push with your fingertips as this helps add extra strength (its a bit hard to explain but experiment with it and you'll figure it out). Third setting a number that you have to reach is good motivation obviously nothing out of your range and early on increasing this number every week or so to push yourself as you improve fast initially. Fourthly one thing I learnt to get out of being stuck at 40 was taking more time to breath properly (as I mentioned earlier pausing at the top for breath for later push ups as I find I get 30ish in and then need to focus a lot on getting my breath back) as not breathing enough made my muscles feel like it was way harder than it was causing me to stop more out of being tired than maxing out as I found that my arms wouldn't actually give out for another 14 after that (this was of course after a long time stuck at 41 so I had a bit of built up strength). Finally good music really helps you push harder and helps make it fun to do (I have a decent yt playlist if you want).
Wish you luck man. Heads up the first month or so of keeping consistent is the hardest part and then you and your body will get into a rhythm and it becomes a lot easier and causes you less fatigue.

I think I understand the joke now. I have been reading OPM manga since 2013. And I just understood how the 100 push-ups etc, which sounded like normal training course made him uber strong. The thing is when he could've actually reached super strength, his "push-ups" might have became "push-downs" meaning he might as well be pushing the ground down and not just simply lifting himself. All his moves are named after the most menial act. He "flipped" the table against garou but what he did was turn IO, Jupiter's moon, inside out. He jumped sideways and it created infinite after images but to him he might as well just seeing things normally. That's why his training regimen might as well actually be him pushing himself harder and harder everyday because he's talking about his perspective where a push-up is him pushing the earth down like chuck norris and 100m dash is running a 100m less than a sec. He once "pushed" himself to turn around so fast that he saw his back.

It’s not the training that make him super strong, it’s his mindset. 100push up sound like something that someone train hard enough could achieve, but that’s not his training. It’s him pushing himself to the limit every single day for 3whole years. It’s like if i could do 40push up today, maybe i could do 45tmr and call it a stop. But in saitama case, he just keep doing it until he can’t no more. This take a huge toll on mental strength than u think, and he do this everyday for 3years.

I think this is a perfect example of ONE's sense for intertwining comedy with genuinely great dramatic writing and character development. Saitamas workout routine is on paper a joke, and we first learn about it that way, but when we see glimpses into his past, its the same routine, but the fact that saitama takes it so seriously, and genuinely does a simple task with such intensity and consistency that it causes him intense pain and enough stress to make him lose his hair, yet he doesnt ever boast about it or seem impressed with himself, says so much about him. Saitama may be a parody in concept, but in execution hes a grounded and inspirational character

Considering Saitama went from continental-level power, to galactic-level during the Cosmic Garou fight in a span of like 10 minutes by simply trying a little harder, without even having to go through any transformation or real physical damage, I'd assume Saitama's potential and ability to grow in strength is quite a bit more than Goku's.
We know that Saitama's strength increased this quickly because in the S1 OVA (canon in the manga), Saitama sneezes and creates a small dust explosion, but in the Garou fight, he sneezes and destroys Jupiter, so it's safe to assume he really did grow that quickly.
But again, different universes so it's hard to assume anything.

Saitama did his training routine for 3 years in which he did 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10 km run everyday. He ate three meals a day and sometimes just a banana for breakfast. He didn’t use air conditioning during the summer or winter to strengthen his mind.
Although his training seems standard, it was very intense for Saitama, and would cause his body intense pain and muscle aches. There were even times where he felt as if he would die and would vomit blood. According to Dr. Genus, the scientist who created the House of Evolution, since Saitama persevered with such an intense routine, he somehow managed to remove his limiter with sheer effort.
Gyoro Gyoro, the military adviser and one of the executives of the Monster Association, has also stumbled upon the concept of the limiter. According to her, the way to remove/break one’s limiter is to overcome death. A human must experience a “personalized hell” that’s suitable for them at their level and take an abnormal amount of punishment on the mind and body. To “overcome death”, a being must survive multiple near death experiences which should result in explosive growth.
While there’s no direct confirmation, Gyoro Gyoro doesn’t appear to be wrong because she did this process to Monster King, Orochi, and she considers him a success, with him being the only one of her experiments to overcome death and reach a Disaster Level of Dragon (According to Murata, Monster King Orochi’s Disaster Level is Dragon or Above). She also does this same experiment to Garou, and he actually was in the process of breaking his limiter.
Saitama, on the other hand, seems to have gone through everything that Gyoro Gyoro described when she was telling Garou the process of removing one’s limiter.
It should also be pointed out that Saitama would battle monsters that appeared during his training days, and he wouldn’t take breaks which would make his training harder than it appears. According to Saitama, there were times where he would get severe injuries to the point where he was on the brink of death, yet he continued his training and kept fighting monsters.

He is at what he thinks his limit, but he continues towards the fight nonetheless. He just doesn't remember it as anything special because he's so used to it back then and only attributes his current strength to his training

It's not the training 'alone' that made him broke his limiter. It's his near death experiences from his fights, his mindset aligned him to believe that basic training would made him super strong.
But as many people said, he is a *MeDioCre* simple headed guy, he never even sees his fights to monsters as a challenge, always just a Saturdays of bargain day at the supermarket.
I just hate it when the author was basically implying it to readers faces, but still rub a doubt. It's well established that Saitama don't take his opponents too seriously(Facing your daily monsters for fun, as a hobby.) including what may society may think of him/you, "cheater/fake/ugly/bland/no one".
It's a base character made to show a free yet unbreakable spirit... A bland character but who totally works(Same as the author's art style, and his art message)
ONE wants to make a role model that could be anyone, the only limit is yourself. So as long as you doubt, then you're just a body builder who never train to be a hero, or an absolute evil with half assed objective.
You can be great just by doing it for fun. Limit was their doubts, so break through it.
One punch man started as for fun.
