Miguel is 50% spider because of a gene splicing incident in his comic run instead of being bitten. Instead of spidey-sense and wall-sticking, he has organic spinnerets in his forearms (like the Toby MacGuire one), talons on his hands and feet, fangs that have paralytic venom (he uses it to subdue problem-enemies), as well as hypersensitive sight, sense of smell, and hearing. Miguel is also actually funny, but his sense of humor is sarcastic and situational, I highly recommend reading the comic run to see the difference. Oh, and bonus, he is Irish/Mexican, his whole freakin' life is a walking telenovela.
