Fellas I think we need to leave Jake off of trivia finding duties lol
Jake is currently in the lead for Yankee MFer for that awful trivia prep.
Jake MFer for SURE this week lol
Jim you need to make Jake ur MFer if they sweep the marlins lmaoooo
BBD CAM PLEASE
Love Boonie correcting Jimmy's word choice
Loving the new camera shots but missing bbd in the corner
Long live visible BBD laughs 😢
Rip big baby
I believe the term you may have been looking for is cognizant
Yeah he was looking for cognizant lol but Boone was also right that consciously would have worked in the context of that question as well
Boone is correct. "Consciously" was the better word to use @16:00.
I think jimmy "consciously" didn't chose the word.
He wanted to know if Boone was aware of his own tendencies. Not if Boone was actively chosing to do "x"
New trivia segment should be Boone trying to guess who got which awards from the series recap!
that’d be fun
boone was so right about conciously. Also great chat and episode
No more Sharp Stats?
Yea I was curious about this too
There prob has to be a decent sample size of stats to compare first the season just started.
Would love an episode dedicated to diving into Boone’s management style, philosophy, etc.
Not to criticize it or anything but to understand his philosophy when it comes to leadership, broad strokes of coaching, etc.
Jake get your shit together that trivia was embarrassing
To quote the great Dirk Diggler - “Let’s keep rockin and rollin man!”
Jakey Trivia had a tough night at the plate. Maybe needs to sit a couple out. That was tough JJake sucks!❤
lol so basically G was too swole. Haha, looking better and more comfortable as Svelte Stanton. Hoping for a big hear for our dude. Be dope if he reaches 500 HR w us
He still looks totally lost at the plate 80% of the time. But when hes on he is def fun to watch. I'm rooting for him
It’s April 9th boys not April 2nd
Lmao Boone loves his trivia
Consciously. Defined as: in a deliberate and intentional way.
Whats up with jake and trivia ?
No questions about Harry Mack’s spring training freestyle?
This was insane btw
How do you not remember Dustin Hermanson from the 90s and 2000s. Facial hair was sooo 90s haha I remember watching him with the Cards growing up.
18:19 great question boys
Jomboy created an entire Barstool Sports out of whole cloth.
Pitching injuries can be reduced to one simple topic: sticky stuff.
Luis Gil reminds me of a tall Yordan Ventura rip
Big G at his best is on par with Soto and Judge. Him being healthy truly is game changing for this lineup.
Baseball eclipse trivia:
1900 eclipse: White Sox utility player Bill Barrett was born. Brooklyn Supurbas beat the Chicago Orphans, 12-7.
1918 eclipse: Red Sox are experimenting with Babe Ruth as an outfielder. He hits a double. Yankees beat St. Louis 5-4. Pat Hardgrove's major league debut. (5 days later was his second and final game).
1925: Jim Mullin died (it was January, not a lot going on)
1932: Giants score 4 in the top of the 10th inning. After 2 quick outs, Cubs score 5 in a 2 out rally in the bottom of the 10th to come back and win a heartbreaker, ending with a 2 run walk off homer from Kiki Cuyler.
1963: Joe Pepitone and Harry Bright hit homers as Whitey Ford dominates Cleveland for 8 innings. He falters in the 9th, giving up 3 runs and Hal Renift comes in for his 12th save of the year.
1970: Nothing
1979: Forrest Thomson died.
2017: Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City experiences totality at 1:09. Perfect for a pre-game event. Miraculously, MLB totally drops the ball and the team has an off day. But the Diamondbacks have a walk off against the Mets and a young Carlos Rodon gets his 2nd and final win of his season, which was cut in half due to injury.
BBD cam please
Now that Dellin Bettances 2.0 is officially done with the season and possibly his Yankee tenure, I wonder who we'll find to replace those innings
Boone seemed eager for this to be over tbh.
I remember when Tommy John was a matter of if now it’s just a matter of when
Need to ask AB if he'd want T Bauer on the roster.
When I see Big G bending his knees & getting into his legs during his swing, good things do happen
Now I need to know if Hermanson is actually a good guy!
I need me some BBD (pause)
he should feel bad for not making Oswaldo an everyday player at this point.
Day ____ of asking for BBD back in the corner.
When I was waiting for this I was thinking “I wonder what Boone’s thoughts on pitching injuries this year are”. Saw that title and was like 👍
Did anyone ever figure out the circle thing from the 2022 yankees, where they would get to 2nd base and draw a circle with their hands? Never did hear what that meant
It was the size of Vlads asshole after McDonald’s
We digress.... Lols
18:39 ughhh dumb.
Jones should never play unless guys are absolutely gassed & need rest days.
If the main 3 outfielders need a day off I’d rather Oswaldo, Grisham, or Stanton get that start
let's not refer to alex rodriguez as a Yankees legend.
Both times he got on base, the ball was way out side the zone
I don't know what you'd need to do, but I would like to see some sort of rule change that would result in pitchers not needing to destroy their arms in order to compete. It feels like the age of great pitchers is in jeopardy with anyone capable of pitching great is also doing stuff to their arms that will prevent them from having a long career.
I'd rather see more finesse pitchers and fewer fireballers. But for the average draftee, the odds of getting value to the team from them are higher if they throw harder and their odds of reaching MLB are higher if they throw harder. So the ones who are able to get through on finesse are fewer and farther between. It isn't recruited and it isn't taught.
Managerial decisions this season so far seem to be based more on having a feel for the game. And it’s so good to see. Just the way Boony talks to you guys feels different. He seems to be willing to generate a lineup with minimal analytics or at least it feels like that
Grissom is by far better fielder than duggie chains , ill leave it there
He’s a .190 hitter and Verdugo has looked great out there thus far. What’s your point lol
Lol, Jomboy gotta rela a little, saying to Boone, "Am i wrong, uhh I'll google it" Hahaha. Walking on eggshells around Boone. Jom was right about the definition of 'cognitive' but Boone was correct in suggesting the word "consciously" fit the context more appropriately.
He’s not walking on eggshells lol, he’s just toning it down a bit because it’s a professional relationship. I don’t think Boone is a close friend to jomboy so not being too aggressive with the banter is normal etiquette.
Gotta have a tacky baseball.
I absolutely believe this is the key. The harder you actually have to grip the ball (vs having some stickem on the ball), the greater the stress on all of the arm anatomy.
@@DW-fm6yq exactly. Tyler Glasnow had a good segment on it. He explained everything
Cortez Jr 😂😂😂 redeemed himself against a weak team with his pitching
I think the pitching injuries are a function of multiple things. The pitch clock needs to increase not decrease by two seconds like it has this year. Also picthers are throwing with all the have at every pitch with analytics show spin rates, etc. it's common for a picture who only reaches 95 mph to be considered average when 15 years ago that was the exception not the norm. If you don't throw above 95 in the 98 mile per hour range along with a great slider and change up, curveball he won't succeed . All this leads to strain, particularly on the elbow and forearm because the human body was not meant to pitch at the . Have the Major League players association demand that the pitch clock move back to at least 40 seconds minimum, have incentives for pitchers to reach the third time through the lineup and if they don't, they lose their designated hitter. This changes must be made to Protect pitchers
Nice conflict resolution by digressing. Avoided another Boone grumpy cat situation.
R.I.P. Lasagna
Was just talking to someone who didnt think the tommy john surge is an issue and i just disagree. I think baseball is rising in popularity and the injuries are very counterproductive to this
#notapril2nd
The pitch clock is absolutely having a negative effect on pitchers arms and you guys, with the platform you have, should be spreading awareness so mlb does something.
It’s not the main and only reason they are getting hurt but I’ll tell you why it’s negatively impacting them.
When you give your arm less time in between pitches, your muscles do not recover as much and become weaker.
When your muscles weaken, more strain is put onto the ligaments.
It’s not a theory it’s a fact.
I believe mlb knows this may be the case but would rather keep the games sped up instead of protecting players.
THE HARRY MACK FREESTYLES IS THE KEY TO WINNING. GET HIM BACK IN THE CLUBHOUSE AROUND THE ALL-STAR BREAK 🫣
SIGN BAUER
TREVOR BAUER!!!!! Get that dude!!!
No
9:54 why is Boone lying? I watched every at bat and until the last 3 days Stanton looked absolutely lost and was not having quality at bats.
Torres has been having quality at bats but not getting results. Go back and watch Stanton’s at bats in the Houston & Arizona series. They were brutal. Swinging at balls, taking strikes, and his body language showed he was lost. Look at his face & swings
Just being supportive of his guy, not the deep
@@Sharvictus fair
Yankees could sign Trevor Bauer, one of the best pitchers in the world..
No
Him and Cole have had beef since college. if not for that then yes
Podcast with A-Rod? Hard pass
Why? Seems to be a great mind in baseball
@@wright1192 steroid use, not regarded highly in respect to prior top talent Yankees players, choking in playoffs repeatedly. Plus his commentary on baseball games that he was a part of broadcasting is pretty cringe.
@@0xRoBeRtSoNx0i get every reason you used but the steroid. Like man everybody was doing them be serious. All the other reason are 110% correct though
@@0xRoBeRtSoNx0get over it dumbass that was years ago
@@f4shamoo208 I get that but the suspended list actually isn’t that long. Now who knows if they tested everyone but still some will slip thru the cracks. He did it from 2010-12. I think the term “legend” is a far stretch.
