I'm loving these daily vlogs! I hope they're not too much for you for. The nature footage and soothing music are DIVINE. And it's so fun to see the work going on in the attic! I really really miss seeing renovations/repairs in the chateau. What's happening with Nati's old apt.? Gerry's apt.?
All the windows need redoing in the back of that Chateau wing before they can finish the two apartments. I think the fence, Grand Salon, two bedrooms above it and the dishwashers' area will get done first. The heating system is being finished up and the Chapel started. There will be lots of workers coming and going. ❤

The dishwashing room isn't horrible, but it's not glamorous either. What is a château dishwashing room supposed to look like?
I can't wait for Amaury to finally start fixing the beams and wall 8n the grand salon. Refinishing the upstairs bedrooms and installation of the paneling seems like it's so far away.
I swear I heard something about a "secret" project a while back. I assume it was being filmed for British television and is already finished by now.
Another finished bedroom and bath in the attic will be nice for the volunteers. It might be small, but does it really matter in such an enormous home?
I think the gazebo was the secret for channel 4 - which hasn’t aired yet - but was mentioned at Patreon Days.
AND….what happened to Michael Petherick having a room as well?
I am really loving these new daily blogs. 💖 I am retired and I am an empty Nester. I lost one of my sons and husband to Covid. It’s been very difficult. I have been watching you for years. You have helped to get me through the worst of times. It feels like I am hanging out with good friends that keep me company. I would love to visit, but at my age I don’t know if I’m strong enough. Watching everything you do and the friendships you have brings me joy.

I am so very sorry for your losses. COVID has so changed the world but it is so hard for people who lost loved ones with all the controversy around COVID. I think the 19th century where the bereaved wore black and society acknowledged the losses was in that way a much more civilized and empathetic place.
Well Stefanie, I have followed you since the beginning,those dark days, and what I really miss is you running around every morning giving us updates on the work and even the small jobs being done in the buzzing chateau. It made me feel like I was part of the progress made and watching the changes in real time almost was so fascinating. Today you gave me a glimpse of that. Please,please give us that back❤😢😊

In the spring we saw lots of the changes just before the B&B season started. Patience.The heating system update continues and the Channel 4 TV footage will be out soon. So we will see some of the spring updates we missed so far. As soon as the B&B season ends and scaffolding goes up around the Chapel and Grand Salon you construction fiends will be happy. ❤

I think slot of people are hoping to see more of the renovation s and less Stephanie and Philip traveling all over.
It was more exciting and seeing the LaLande regulars make us feel connected to this channel
Really loving these shorter and less formal daily episodes. They were a highlight of every Covid day...glad they are back. Don't burn yourself out looking for material... sharing your everyday life is enough. 😊

Stephanie is like the Cobbler's Children who have no shoes. The upgrade to her office have to wait behind apartments, salon, new bathrooms, the chapel and etc. ❤
You are correct. She is wise. With so many big expensive and necessary repairs to do as soon as possible, she is waiting patiently until it makes sense to spend some money there. It’ll be something to look forward to! I’m looking forward to ALL of it.

Love the daily vlogs, Stephanie! They must be so much work, but so fun to be part of your day-to-day. And, Philip, no apologies needed about the rice (I'm French Cajun and Chinese -- so basically made of rice) and I love to see how other nationalities use the same ingredients different ways!
Stephanie’s early morning “waddle”..hair done up, earrings on and a cup of tea in a ceramic mug not even a travel mug! She knows how to do everything with class! 😂
one cant walk very fast with an open cup... otherwise for the excercise walk it has to be brisk for twenty minutes there would be no tea in her cup. she has been gifted cups with lids

If her hip is bothering her, she’s not walking very fast.

Here comes Autumn and this will be the warmest the Chateau has been in centuries. Some are asking about more renovation video's but I completely understand that over the summer the focus has been on the heating and the permits for the Chapel and the lake. These things can't be filmed due to privacy of the workers - much respect to you Stephanie! It's going to be a really busy summer next year when the other work gets under way. Look how the Gardens have come along, so beautiful! I love seeing you able to get away and travel and enjoy life - the Chateau is not just your home but also your work - everyone deserves a holiday.

The guest dinners go to midnight and then clean up and editing happens. Once the B&B is closed at the end of the season and the Marquis's gite becomes a sewing and craft center for the winter Stephanie will be sewing all night like she used to. 😂

Philip may help to stop that habit but he does it too. 😂 Philip stop drinking tea or energy drinks at night. If you and Stephanie can work on good sleep habits this winter your health would improve. ❤ I know Stephanie wants to work on all the embroidery and using all the material in the attic for curtains and pillows, but pace yourselves. ❤ It was what was said to me 20 years ago and of course I ignored it.
I’m loving the dailies again already, as we see more of the nitty gritty of little insights into the unfinished parts of Lalande and share the renovation befores and after more detailed. I love the little turret bathroom too Stephanie, so quaint. Health and Safety in the woods - identify the hazard! - BRAMBLES!!! (Especially hazardous when wearing skirts and headscarves?)💖💖💖

the plan for that area included the addition of french doors and more windows, so i believe they're still waiting for the building permits.

Ian the builder took down the hallway wall, that was painted as fake stone and had burned traces from the fire of 1800s. Stephanie said she is turning Philip's bathroom into a walk-in closet and then the wall behind her will be removed. She wants new wall material coverings also. I am sure the flooring will be looked at also.❤

I have always wondered what happened to it! It had that beautiful pink birdcage wallpaper, and they were putting in pink tiles in the shower area. That was over a year ago now and I have always wondered about it. Maybe it was filmed for British TV but the episode hasn’t come out yet? Would love to see a reveal.

It’s nice to see the daily goings on. As many have said, it takes us back to the beginning when you first started sharing life at LaLande with us. I know you are constrained by the channel 4 agreements but it does seem rather sad to see the things that have been done such a long time after they are finished.

No I just watch the vlogs, remember details and repeat what Stephanie says in her comments. Several patrons can do the same but in better comments than my own. My background includes besides being a dancer up into my 20s (Ballet, Jazz, and Modern), being a programmer and working in database management. Also a data analyst and now I am landscape painter as my hobby. I actually have painted since childhood.

stephanie, it might be time to invest in some running gear for your daily walks. thinking leggings and proper shoes would go a long way to protecting you out in "the wild"! maybe a fleece hoodie as well.... thanks for posting. bed/bath in the attic looks great.
