You have not yet started to build the box for the seats. A suggestion... I have seen Dave Whipple (Bush Radical) paint or use roof metal on the inside of front wall to keep urine from soaking the wood (helps with odor control.

    • @Thelifeofwiley

Yes, I was going to line the box for that reason and spray down if and when needed. Thanks for the reminder, though.

This is a great tutorial for me to follow so I can build my own outhouse I’ll just need a Bluetti power station to put the icing on the cake 👍 We all definitely need a backup system in these days. My grandparents still had and used a two seater outhouse up until the latter seventies. I still can picture their board and batten farm house. It had never had a lick of paint touch its walls and the boards that hung below the bottom beams were jagged with age. I wish it was still there…

But this 2000watt I'm using in the video ran compressor and saws just shy of 8 hrs with a leaking hose for nailer, obviously I shut the compressor down when not using or when cutting. It did a good job. Charges in about 3 or 4 hrs. Thanks and good luck

The one they are giving away is an 800 watt, I believe. So it's not huge but will power lots of things still. Thanks and good luck

Nice build I can see where the BLUETTI would come in very handy during the build.
Also thinking the BLUETTI would be nice around the house for this coming winter.
    Keep up the good work.

Glad to see that some of my innovations I've developed over a quarter century of building these has become part of the "general" knowledge. The 55 gal drums and use of screws, just to name a few. I published this info in my website to help others build a right fine outhouse. Although I've built hundreds and learned from this, nothing is more satisfying than building your own right and proper one and enjoy helping others get it right.

Wow, when you spoke of the importance of this part of the project, I thought it might be a root cellar! Just kidding!
That BLUETTI not only will help you build, but light up the inside to check for spiders later on!!

It is a root cellar of sorts, lol. The spiders may not want to be in there after I visit, 😅 good luck

I am always so amazed how well the Bluetti products do with so much construction. The outhouse looks great so far. It will be a chilly walk but that's OK. Stay Safe and keep going before the winter season hits.
