Even though I’m only 23yrs old and learned about Linkin Park at 11yrs old, all of their music has a huge impact in my life and the time I’m going through depression and anxiety attacks, this band helped me a lot, thankyou Linkin Park for bringing me up again. I will always be a #LPsoldier ❤❤❤

This song has a haunting sound. We know that Chester was masquerading his despair and saddness. He will never be forgotten!!! RIP you wonderful man and I am happy that you are at peace!!! But you did leave your beautiful family and so many fans heartbroken!!!
I don't understand why someone couldn't help Chester. He was one of the greatest singers in the world here and gone like a flash of lightning
I understand what your saying Greek. But from someone that suffers from manic depression, when the person that suffers from it don't even understand what is happening to themselves and or the lack to control it can be so overwhelming. It almost seems like to me and others that may suffer,that no one really can help. I battle everyday. And it can be so hard to understand. I can see something so beautiful,or some random act of kindness sends me in a downward spiral. It's not always the sadness that brings the fight.
I hope this may have given some insight as to why, sometimes help isn't the issue. I'm sure he knew that if he ever were to ask,the help would have been there.
It's like fighting yourself in your head, it's just you vs you, and slowly you just get tired, I can understand because I've been there, done that.
He fought for so very long; I’m grateful that he was able to live, and love, for as long as he did. When the thoughts in your head, your own thoughts, are against you, it’s so hard to fight that. For some people, therapy works, and/or medication, but it doesn’t work for every person so afflicted. Knowing you’re loved isn’t always enough. Sometimes nothing is enough. I’m grateful for what he was able to do and share in his life. Whatever we go to, I have to believe it’s a progression to the best possible thing.
I've (unfortunately) lived long enough to comprehend that attempting to "mask" your issues and hauntings, is far from the ideal.
Hypno therapy/therapy to (attempt) give traumas a "new meaning" or a better one, or, what I imagine it was CHester's case: never ackowledge and accept them, and/or instead fight them, is not the way to go. Neither talk about it, and try to unstigmatize it (whatever that means), since the West adopted this approach, suicides just keeps increasing and reaching far and wide a demography that wasn't and isn't suppose to be "haunted" by the tunnel vision that nothing will ever improve and life is meaningless/hollow/hedonistic and/or purely materialistic.
Since the industrial revolution we (as --- meme --- society...) are training people to become a "efficient" technical gear in this machine, and that's about it. While in the trivium/quadrivium era, they trained "young adults" (there's no such thing as teenagers...) the ropes of life, emotional/mental fortitude, temperance, hard work and art.
As of why someone "couldn't help Chester". From what I've followed LP (since 2004), Chester always had this strong bravada of inspiring, nothing gets to me and fuck the "haters" (and everything that could make him/the band look "weaker"... whatever that means, and that applies to Mike Shinoda as well). He build this "ideal self" that overcame his troubled childhood, early on, going off pulling edgy/crazy performances and stunts, giving to impulses (his troubled early marriage/divorce) and heavy uses of alcohol and drugs --- thankfully, overcamed.
In his perspective, this inner demon was there, he had under control, it would never resurface and he never wanted anyone to worry about him --- doing his best to help/save others. Becoming excellent at it, to the point that everyone around him were proud of this Chester, and, we'll never know (unless his close ones discloses it; unnecessary) if they had strong suspicions that he couldn't live with himself any longer.
In other words, he was GREAT on the outside, working (as a manner of coup), philanthropy, father, husband, charitable and a role model. But he couldn't live with himself, not putting the world in motion=terrible, terrible place, and that is something that was eating him for decades, and we'll never know what could've been done to prevent it. And that's part of life. We can't save Chester, but, hopefully, we, the hurten LP fans, will be able to help someone in the future.
One of my favorite songs hands down ❤ This version gave me chills the first time I heard it. R.I.P. Chester and thx u from the bottom of my heart for what u gave to this world while u were here.
