    I love my wet bags. Great tutorial. I added little loop strap with snaps so I could hang on door knob or attach to outside of diaper bag ect

      ***** Great idea for a strap. I considered adding one, but knew I didn't have much sewing time before Peyton would wake up from her nap.

      Charis Calhoon One of these would work perfect! You could make a few small ones or a big one to hold everything.

    Nice! Wish I had one when my kids were little. I just used plastic bags then.

    Oh thank you so much, Whitney! I've been looking for a video on how to make pouches for my wheelchair. I needed a type of water resistant fabric since I am caught in the rain sometimes.

      This should work great! You could play around with different sizes and add straps too!

    My store only had waterproof nylon and frays like crazy. How would I finish the ends off? I tried to use pinking shears but that didn’t help at all. Someone at my store said to use a candle, but my hands tremble so bad that I wouldn’t be able to hold it still and I drop stuff like you wouldn’t believe. I’m afraid of dropping the flame. I love this bag and can’t wait to get it sewn up!

    So no linning is needed?
    I have been meaning to make some for my kids since we live in Hawaii and you always have wet bathing suits and wash cloths for emergencies.

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  7 лет назад +1

      As long as you use PUL fabric you don't need a lining. These bags are perfect for wet swimsuits :)

    Love it......very useful...I would like to make a lined wet bag:) guess it would be the same as your lined pouch but with pul fabric right?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  9 лет назад

      Yes, the same as any lined bag. You may gave a little trouble with the fabrics slipping once you start adding layers though.

  • @GraceFilled

    Hi I am from Tangi's channel! Do you have any videos on repairing the pul in cloth diapers?!

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  7 лет назад

      Hi, thanks for coming by! I haven't needed to repair any yet, so no video on it. Sorry.

    I do not have a dryer, can I use a hairdryer to close the holes after sewing?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  6 лет назад

      I've never tried that. You would probably be fine without heating it up. If you do try the hair dryer use the low setting and keep it moving so it doesn't mess up the PUL

  • @Peacheschan1

    Thanks and I will make one for my swimsuits. What kind of fabric did you used ?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  9 лет назад

      Start listening around :35 seconds in and I will say it. Not sure how to spell it, sorry. The abbreviation is PUL which is what it's mostly know as.

    Do you have a video that shows how to make a wet bag with a PUL lining and a cotton outer?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  5 лет назад

      No, I don't have a tutorial for that.

  • @jessicas560

    At the end, do you sew over the zipper on both sides???

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  8 лет назад

      +Jessica S Yes, but made sure the zipper was partially opened to turn the bag back through.

  • @alicemastroeni3181
    @alicemastroeni3181 7 лет назад

    could you use these for snack bags?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  7 лет назад

      PUL technically isn't approved for food use. I would suggest looking for other fabrics that are considered food safe then using those to make the bag.

    Is this bag washable?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  9 лет назад

      +hallecats Yes! I turn it inside out and throw it into the wash with whatever I had in it before (wet clothes, wet swimsuit, cloth diapers, etc).

  • @Colorignited

    Looks like a very nice big teeth zipper. What kind is it please?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  9 лет назад +1

      Colorignited It was just a metal zipper. I got a shopping bag full of zippers at a yard sale in front of the local Asian market a few years back. The whole bag with $2!
