  • Sped up video of me painting an abstract image.
    Here I use homemade squeegees to scrape layers of oil paint onto the canvas.

      +Nicky Henderson half of brain, cant you do anything else better than just copying Richter? i mean wtf, dont you have little dignity at least? what is your contribution in art if you just copy other artists? whats the point in making art if you just cant be yourself?!

    • @annar8476
      @annar8476 8 лет назад

      Nicky does not copy, he developed himself!
      I do not understand that one can not see the graph with development of every painting technique that is !!!

      what means to be an artist is to bring new and original techniques and ideas of colors and blending colors on the table in this vast visual arts world, not just copying the existing ones, that doesnt make you an artist, just a cheep copy cat!

      You do know that it is NOT possible to copy G Richter because hi is a very complex artist. BUT man can do LIKE him in order to develop the own style, as Richter done by himself from 1970-s.
      And man can show to everyone process of it - is it not great?

      of course the results are not the same, thats the beauty of abstract, i was referring to the technique!

    Gerhard Richter stole the technique from another German artist Herbert Zangs

      boboallan1 i think Zangs had more in common with robert Ryman.

    the difference is, that gerhard richter is art, while this stuff here is only kitch. a total misunderstanding of the term "abstract".

    So sad to see someone rip off Richter so badly. BUT we are basically out of ideas and every style has pretty much been taken already. Not really much room for anything else.

      +OUT ON THE PORCH I was thinking the exact same thing watching this. My whole "beef" with this painting and the others he's done is that it's a complete knock off of Richter. I'm all for using the same techniques as another artist and using their style as inspiration, but to completely bite their style is ridiculous!!! We already have a Gerhard Richter. Still living mind you. It's not like he's dead and long gone. What I want to see from this guy is him taking this technique and creating something new from it.
      Nicky, my advice to you would be to take techniques and styles from several artists you like and try to combine them to create something new we haven't seen before. You're obviously a talented artist. Why not expand on what we've already seen in this World? They try to say, "Nothing is new under the sun..." but my belief when it comes to art is your limit is your own imagination.

      +SupremeSaalik This painting was one of my first few using squeegees, back then I was experimenting using Richter's techniques to work on. Years on I have my own tools and techniques that I don't post on youtube because they're my own. I've kept these videos up because people watch them and some like them!

    • @SupremeSaalik
      @SupremeSaalik 8 лет назад +1

      Any way I can check out some of your new work? I've gone to your website but the abstractions up there looks pretty much the same as the pieces you painted on youtube. I would love to see Richters technique expound upon tenfold. My opinion is subjective. So take what I say with a grain of salt. I think you're headed down the right road, you just need to keep working at it a bit longer to find your own voice. Similar to the way Polluck first started out then found his own voice.

      2 years on and finding old trolls is easier than ever. Richter simply ripped off screen printing techniques. A bit of spin from the art world and yet another set of Emperors new clothes were created. Step out of your bubble, assuming you having disappeared up your own arse. +Phooznation

    • @chaosparticles
      @chaosparticles 7 лет назад +2

      That wasn't a very imaginative response. An artist simply using a squeegee and adding some paint and creativity is not a copy of another squeegee user. Richter simply copied a multitude of screen printers, was lucky to have the art world put their spin on top of his and he entered the galleries of the world wearing another set of Emperors new clothes... Bravo!
